StatMech Summer School 2026
We are pleased to announce the first edition of the StatMech (Statistical Mechanics) Summer School, to be held in Padova, Italy, from August 31 to September 4, 2026.
The StatMech Summer School is an international event primarily addressed to young researchers, including PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career scientists, working in probability theory and related areas. The aim of the school is to promote advanced training, scientific interaction, and the development of research networks in a stimulating and collaborative environment.
The theme of this school is Random Interacting Systems, which play a central role in modern probability and statistical mechanics and naturally arise in a wide range of applications at the interface of mathematics, physics, biology, and computer science. The school will focus on fundamental models, recent developments, and open problems in the field, highlighting both theoretical aspects and interdisciplinary perspectives.
There will be two minicourses (6 lecture hours each), around fourteen talks, and two sessions of short presentations by young participants, which are an important component of the school as they promote interaction among participants and provide a panorama of current research in probability.
