Terms of use

Before you use the site, we ask that you read, understand, and agree to the following. Use of the site assumes agreement with the following:

About this site

This Google site has been created after feedback and requests from members to have a members-only site. The site will keep members abreast of the current situation regarding the governance and leadership of RIMPA. As some matters are subject to ongoing legal action or legal advice, we may be limited in what we can say.

The normal Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA) website remains the official communications channel for RIMPA business (http://rimpa.com.au/). However, the Google site is for those wanting to read and comment on various matters that have been raised by the membership.

This message was sent to RIMPA members via email, and covers who to contact, use of the listserv, where to get further info (this Google site).

News and updates

CPD FAQs

This document addresses some questions asked in the October 2017 CPD Survey. After the survey closes, a working party will analyse the results and make recommendations on the CPD program. This will take some time, so we want to answer as many questions as we can now.

Update from the RIMPA Board (Doc 006)

As you can appreciate, steps are being taken to progress towards a more sustainable operation of RIMPA. Importantly, the Board continues to work as a team, and we ask for your patience and support. Since inForum, costs have been minimised by using technology to avoid travel and accommodation, and now we wish to inform you that the Board has reached a point where it is necessary to meet face to face in order to move forward. See the full document for details and to comment (can only comment during moderated hours):

The following document is being shared to address some questions asked by members regarding the governance and leadership of RIMPA. This is in addition to the 'News and Updates' document (003 News and updates).

Further information

Do you have a question that isn't answered here? Email it to chair@rimpa.com.au

We will do our best to respond to individual messages as soon as possible. Where questions are of a wider interest to the membership, we will post a FAQ without identifying the contributor.

*About moderated pages

Why are hybrid can comment/view pages moderated?

We have an obligation to try to ensure use of this site remains in compliance with various policies, ‘netiquette’ expectations, and laws. In order to try to achieve this, we have a team of moderators scheduled to monitor the site during times that comments are open.

How will the pages be moderated?

Moderators will be assessing comments against the ‘Terms of use’ of the site. RIMPA reserves the right to moderate use of the site, and to terminate access to any member who does not abide by the RIMPA consultation site terms of use.

When are hybrid 'can comment/view' pages moderated?

See the below schedule. Please note that times listed are in Australian Eastern Daylight Time (current time in Melbourne). Use this handy time zone converter to check the timing.

  • Wednesday 8 November 12-1pm AEDT

How do I comment on a page?

Commenting is similar to using comments in Microsoft Word if you've done that before. Highlight the text you wish to comment on, select 'insert' then 'comment'. Ensure that you select 'comment' on the comment box to publish your comment (this is an extra step for Google doc comments!) Google has further information on how comments work.
