Guiltless Chocolate Protein Shake

This drink is a treat for me because of all the add-ins: shredded coconut, almond butter, avocado, date, a touch of coffee flavor. But many of these add-ins can be left out to reduce the calorie count. It tastes like dessert to me, without the guilt of added sugar and unhealthy fats.

Chocolate Protein Shake

8-10 ounces unsweetened almond milk

5-8 ice cubes (depends how icy you like it...I use 8)

2/3 scoop Vega Organic Protein & Greens, Creamy Vanilla

2/3 scoop Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Isolate, Chocolate

ΒΌ of a ripe avocado (adds creaminess to the shake without any detectable flavor of avocado...I never skip this ingredient)

1 tablespoon unsweetened shredded coconut (optional, but it adds a chew factor that I like)

1 tablespoon pure, unsalted almond butter (optional, but adds some good flavor and healthy fat)

1 teaspoon instant coffee (optional)

1 pitted date (optional...I only add this when I want the shake to be extra sweet)

Add all ingredients into a high powered blender, in the order listed. Blend until smooth. Enjoy the deliciousness, knowing you are getting a good dose of protein and healthy fats!
