Music for a late night drive is Rihivi's 6th album. It's the first Rihivi album to be released in multiple parts since The Butterfly Mixtape in 2021. Part 1 was released on January 5th 2024, and part 2 on June 21st 2024. The album is his most experimental work ever. It uses recordings from rain, dog barking, morse code, classical music concerts, bird noises and a whole lot of other weird sampling. Music for a late night drive is also his longest album at 1 hour and 24 minutes long.

The album cover is a journal with cutout photos of Rihivi's dogs, Usva and Riffi, who are featured on the track "Ukulele dogs"! The cover art for part 2 was edited by Twitch streamer and content creator Tim Senna. The cover art for the demo album was the single cover for "Marigold" and one of the original ideas for the album cover for part 1.

The first single "Marigold" came out on October 13th 2023, and the 2nd single "The open road" on December 1st. The first single for part 2 of the album "13" was released on February 16th, and "Dreamscape" on March 8th. 

The final single was released May 17th 2024. On August 16th, "Bonus tracks and demos for a late night drive" was released. It's an album with... well... bonus tracks and scrapped/unfinished songs from the music for a late night drive recording sessions.
