1. Overview
RigViewer is an Android application used to monitor and manage compatible ASIC cryptocurrency miners configured by the user.
RigViewer does not provide cryptocurrency wallets, exchanges, trading, investment advice, money transfers, or mining-pool services.
2. Information processed by the app
RigViewer may process the following information locally on the user’s device:
• Miner names and local IP addresses entered or detected by the user
• Miner model, firmware and status information
• Hashrate, temperature, power, efficiency, fan, frequency and voltage information
• Accepted and rejected shares
• Pool names, pool status, response time and dual-pool allocation
• Best Diff and Block Found information
• Alert settings, theme preferences, currency preferences and temperature-unit preferences
• Background-monitoring settings and notification state
This information is primarily stored locally in the application’s private storage.
3. Local-network communications
RigViewer communicates directly with miners on the user’s local network.
Compatible miner firmware may use unencrypted HTTP connections. Information exchanged over these connections may therefore be visible to other devices with access to the same local network.
Users should operate RigViewer only on networks they trust and should secure their miners and network equipment appropriately.
Miner telemetry is not automatically uploaded to a RigViewer-operated server.
4. Internet services and third parties
RigViewer may communicate with the following third-party services:
CoinPaprika
RigViewer requests cryptocurrency market information from the CoinPaprika API. CoinPaprika may receive information normally associated with an internet request, such as the user’s IP address and request metadata.
Google Fonts
RigViewer may download interface font resources from Google Fonts. Google may receive information normally associated with an internet request, such as the user’s IP address and request metadata.
Google Play
Google Play processes application downloads, subscriptions, purchases and purchase restoration. RigViewer may receive product identifiers, purchase status and entitlement information from Google Play.
Google’s handling of this information is governed by Google’s own privacy policies.
5. Support and bug reports
RigViewer can prepare a support email when the user chooses to report a problem.
The report may include:
• A description written by the user
• Steps to reproduce the problem
• RigViewer version and build mode
• Device manufacturer and model
• Android version and Android SDK version
• Date and time of the report
Diagnostics are included only when the user chooses to include them. RigViewer attempts to remove IP addresses, wallet addresses, passwords, API keys and tokens from the prepared report.
The report is opened in the user’s email application. Nothing is sent until the user reviews and sends the email.
Support emails may be retained for the time reasonably necessary to investigate the reported issue and may be deleted upon a valid request unless retention is required by law.
6. Notifications and background monitoring
RigViewer may use Android notifications, background tasks, wake locks and a foreground service to monitor user-configured miners and provide alerts.
The foreground service is enabled only when the user selects LIVE monitoring. It displays a persistent Android notification and can be disabled at any time.
7. Information RigViewer does not request
The current version of RigViewer does not request or use:
• Precise or approximate location
• Contacts
• Camera
• Microphone
• SMS or call history
• Advertising identifiers
• Advertising SDKs
• Analytics SDKs
• Crash-reporting SDKs
• A RigViewer user account
8. Data sharing and sale
RigViewer does not sell personal information.
RigViewer does not automatically transmit miner telemetry to a RigViewer-operated server.
Information may be processed by third-party services described in this policy when the related feature is used.
9. Data retention and deletion
Miner configurations, preferences and monitoring history stored locally remain on the device until the user removes them, clears the app’s data or uninstalls RigViewer.
Google Play purchase records are retained according to Google’s policies.
Users may request deletion of support communications by contacting the email address listed above.
RigViewer does not currently offer user accounts, so there is no server-side RigViewer account to delete.
10. Security
RigViewer uses Android application storage for locally saved information and HTTPS when communicating with supported internet services.
Local miner communications may use HTTP depending on the miner firmware.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and RigViewer cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
RigViewer is not directed toward children under 13 and is intended for adults who own or operate cryptocurrency-mining hardware.
12. Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated when RigViewer’s functionality or data practices change. The effective date at the top of the policy will be updated when changes are published.
