The Senior Bonner Intern serves as the leader of the Rider Bonner Community Scholar Program. This position is central to student leadership enrichment and development, intern coordination, capacity building, and the development of strong cohort connections through the four cornerstones. The Senior Bonner Intern is also responsible for the overall support and guidance of Bonner students and for fostering a thriving community of service and leadership.
Term Duration: Full Academic Year
Main Supervisor: Nick Barbati - Program Supervisor
Qualifications: Must be an incoming senior that joined during their freshman year. Must be available to be a Rider Bonner Summer Intern during the summer prior to their term, 10-6 hrs a week during July to August.
Hours per week: Complete 10-15 hours of in-person office hours.
Intern Support
Maintain rider.bonner@gmail.com and ensure all interns are making everything in this email as a paper trail for future leadership.
Meet bi-weekly with Bonner impact and Supervisor regarding students and intern management.
Facilitate weekly meetings for the intern team.
Maintain professionalism, active communication, and accountability for all interns.
Lead Intern team in designing, planning, and implementing trainings, enrichment events, and capacity building initiatives.
Ensures interns are completing their tasks.
Student Support
Meet bi-weekly with First year Bonners.
Meet with Bonners who are struggling to meet hours.
Meets with any Bonner of need of guidance.
Helps 21+ Bonners get van certified
End of semester one-on-one self evaluations.
Recruitment & Transitioning Leadership
Maintain bonner@rider.edu and rider.bonner@gmail.com emails
Lead Bonner Interview Day
Send emails, create google forms, and read applications for next leadership.
Conduct interviews for potential leadership for the up-coming semester.
Update descriptions for position.
BWBRS Platform Management
Approve and complete CLAs at beginning and end of each semester.
Sign-hours each week.
Update hour log spreadsheet bi-weekly (shared with Supervisor).
Send unsigned, unlogged, and low hour emails every Sunday.
BLT Support
Meet with Bonner Leadership President bi-weekly.
Approves Bonner Bonding events.
Assist with the scheduling of transportation through Van and Carpooling.
Additional Responsibilities
Helps Rider Service & Leadership Development Intern plan and implement the four cornerstones.
Track Attendance at Bonner events: Weekly Meetings, Orientation, Kick-off, Winter Retreat, End of the year celebration, Senior Presentations, etc.
Keeps Bonner Office Clean.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
