Welcome to RideLink. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile applications (the "RideLink Rider App" and the "RideLink Captain App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the App, including:

• Personal Information: Your name, email address (via Google Sign-In), and verified mobile phone number (via OTP).

• Vehicle Data (Captains Only): Information about your vehicle, including type, model, and license plate number.

• Location Data (Riders): We collect your device's precise location (Foreground) to help Captains find your pickup location and track the progress of your active ride.

• Location Data (Captains - CRITICAL): The RideLink Captain app collects precise location data to match you with nearby passengers and track ride progress. RideLink Captain collects location data to enable ride requests even when the app is closed or not in use. This background tracking only occurs when you are toggled "Online" and stops completely when you toggle "Offline" or log out.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.

• Match Riders with nearby Captains.

• Provide real-time GPS tracking of active rides.

• Facilitate communication (calls/chats) between the Rider and the Captain for a confirmed ride.

• Monitor for fraudulent activity and enforce our safety policies (e.g., automated account banning for excessive cancellations or No-Shows).

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share your data in the following specific scenarios:

• Between Users: When a ride is agreed upon, we share the Rider’s name, pickup/dropoff locations, and phone number with the Captain. We share the Captain’s name, vehicle details, live location, and phone number with the Rider.

• Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information where legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, or legal processes.

4. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. Your account is secured using Google's Firebase Authentication and SMS One-Time Passwords (OTP). All database transactions run securely on Google Cloud servers.

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Your Right to Delete: You have the right to request the permanent deletion of your personal data at any time. Both the Rider and Captain apps feature a prominent "Delete Account" button within the Dashboard. Clicking this button will instantly and permanently erase your database profile, ride history, and Authentication records from our servers.
If you have uninstalled the app and wish to delete your account, you can email your request to rcdotopi@gmail.com from your registered email address, and we will delete your data within 30 days.
