I am an accounting professor at the University of North Texas. I received my undergraduate and master's degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University and my PhD from the University of Iowa. My prior teaching experience includes positions at Texas Christian University, the University of Michigan (visiting professor), and the University of Texas at El Paso.
I specialize in research related to financial market regulation, corporate disclosure, and securities litigation. You can read more about my research [here].
I teach advanced accounting to undergraduate students, accounting-based business valuation to Master of Accounting students, and a capital markets seminar to PhD students. You can read more about my courses [here].
I was born in San Jose, CA, and raised in Athens, Georgia from the age of seven. After high school, I served a two-year LDS mission in Pusan, Korea. I also served in the U.S. Army National Guard while pursuing my undergraduate and master's degrees.
My wife and I are the proud parents of six children, and we live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing the piano, and maintaining an active lifestyle.
