In the final months of university in Birmingham, England, I bought a small legal pad from WH Smiths and began to write about the impending doom and hilarious characters that I would meet when I arrived back home as a fully university certificated student. Home for me was a small village in East Yorkshire where I would work the summer packing tomatoes in a punnet (they're called a punnet not a box, you know!) Being a uni grad back in my village offered little opportunities. The end result was my first ever script. It was about hilariously true people who didn't care that I had a certificate to wave around--I just needed to pack the punnets in a timely fashion. Since that moment, I've been hooked on writing.
