If you want durable, waterproof audio gear designed for high-intensity environments like construction work where hearing your surroundings is critical, choose Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming; if you need a stylish, vintage-style portable turntable for listening to vinyl records in a home or office setting, choose Retrolife ® Record Player.
• Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming: Its biggest strength is the IP68 waterproof rating and bone conduction safety design, allowing full submersion and ambient sound awareness during intense physical labor or swimming; its trade-off is that it is specialized sports gear with no traditional stereo speakers or visual appeal for casual listening.
• Retrolife ® Record Player: Its biggest strength is the classic suitcase aesthetic with built-in speakers and 3-speed belt-driven playback for authentic vinyl reproduction; its trade-off is that it requires a power source and is not designed for rugged, wet, or noisy industrial environments.
• Who each pick is for: The Rhyfell is for athletes, swimmers, and workers who need hands-free audio without blocking their ears, while the Retrolife is for music lovers, collectors, and decorators who value analog warmth and retro style.
The Rhyfell Fit 5 is engineered specifically for people who cannot afford to lose situational awareness while moving. Whether you are working on a chaotic job site, running a marathon, or diving into a pool, this device keeps your ears open. The bone conduction technology transmits sound through your cheekbones rather than into your ear canal. This means you can hear your playlist while still detecting the rumble of machinery, a supervisor's shout, or approaching traffic. For someone in construction looking for multipoint headphones for construction work, this open-ear design is non-negotiable for safety. You never have to worry about blocking out danger because the ears remain completely unobstructed.
Durability is another massive factor for this product. With a professional IP68 waterproof rating, it can be fully submerged up to 2-5 meters deep. This is not just splash-proof; it is swim-proof. If you work outdoors in rain, sweat, or near water sources, this unit will survive conditions that would destroy standard electronics. The 28g ultra-lightweight frame made from liquid silicone ensures it stays secure even during high-intensity training or long shifts. There is no fear of it slipping off due to heavy sweat or movement. The 10-hour playtime battery life supports all-day use, meaning you can start your morning shift with a full charge and finish your evening workout without hunting for an outlet.
However, this device is not for everyone. If you are looking for deep bass or immersive studio-quality sound isolation, you should skip this. Because the ears are open, there is no noise cancellation, and the sound quality relies entirely on vibration transmission. It is also strictly a personal audio device; you cannot plug it into a large PA system or external speakers. It is designed for individual use only. If you need a speaker to broadcast music to a team or a room, this is the wrong tool. But for a single person who needs reliable, safe, and waterproof audio while moving fast or working hard, the Rhyfell is a powerhouse.

The Retrolife ® Record Player is a celebration of analog music culture wrapped in a modern, portable package. It is designed for people who love the tactile experience of vinyl and the warm, rich sound that only a belt-driven turntable can provide. The 3-speed capability (33/45/78 RPM) means it handles everything from 12-inch albums to 7-inch singles and older 78s. The belt-driven system minimizes resonance, which is crucial for getting that crisp, clear sound without the background hiss often associated with cheaper players. This is not a toy; it is a serious entry point for vinyl enthusiasts who want high-fidelity audio without the complexity of building a separate hi-fi system.
Portability is the standout feature here. The suitcase-style design with a sturdy carrying handle and PU leather exterior makes it easy to move from the living room to the bedroom, or even take to a friend's house. You do not need to buy external speakers or amplifiers because it comes with dual built-in stereo speakers that deliver room-filling sound. It connects wirelessly via Bluetooth, allowing you to stream digital music from your phone through these vintage-looking speakers. This flexibility makes it a versatile centerpiece for a dorm room, an office, or a cozy corner of your home. The auto-stop switch adds a layer of protection for your records, automatically halting rotation when the song ends to prevent wear on the stylus.
Despite its charm, this device has clear limitations regarding its environment. It is not built for the job site. It lacks any waterproofing or dust resistance, making it unsuitable for outdoor work or wet conditions. It requires a stable surface and a power adapter to function, so you cannot rely on battery power for hours on end while walking around a construction zone. The sound is meant for focused listening, not for drowning out the noise of heavy machinery. If you are a music lover who wants to create an atmosphere, decorate a space, or enjoy a quiet evening with a record, this is perfect. If you need equipment that can withstand the rigors of daily manual labor, this is too fragile for that purpose.

I would buy the Rhyfell Bone Conduction Swimming if my primary goal was to stay safe and productive in a loud, active environment. The combination of waterproofing, open-ear safety, and all-day battery life makes it the superior choice for anyone who needs to listen while working, especially in roles like construction where hearing your surroundings is a matter of safety. In my opinion, the Retrolife is a wonderful piece of kit for home entertainment, but it simply cannot compete in a rugged, real-world work setting.
