This week we are moving into having small group sessions, finishing assessments and your teacher will be assigning asynchronous work (that is new as the district packets have ended). We want to convey that this week will feel different for some kiddos and we are going slow to go fast. Children can't learn if they are feeling stressed out, so our main goal is to add on slowly so that kids feel successful as we go.

We are enjoying building community and getting to know all of you. During these trying times, we are working in partnership to build the best experience we can for your children!

Week 3, here we go! We want to start by saying: your kids are working so hard and we see it! This experience is asking a lot of kiddos and we want to shout them out for trying their best and rolling with it. Kids are sharing, they're singing, they're actively listening to stories and they are participating in answering questions. And all on the computer!

There are no new additions to the website this week. Next week we'll add our weekly schedules to our teacher pages and soon we'll get a gallery of student work going.

Thank you for being understanding and flexible as we smooth out the bumps of creating a virtual kindergarten experience.

Welcome to week 2! This week, we will continue with our class meetings and each teacher will have virtual home visits with families. The purpose of these visits is to build relationships between teacher-student and teacher-caregivers. We can best support your student if we have a strong relationship with them and partnership with you.

We have added a "policies" tab to our website. Here we will be adding kindergarten policies for you to reference (such as how birthdays will be celebrated). This will be added to as we solidify policies and we will alert you when there are additions.

We have had a wonderful first week--seeing the students' smiling faces every day has been a joy.

Remember to give grace--to yourself, your students, technology and us :) Let's have another great week!

Ms.Irons, Ms. Rogers & Ms. Singh

Dear Parents,

Welcome to kindergarten at Redwood Heights Elementary School! We are so very excited to work with you and your children this year. This website will be your one-stop-shop for your kinder needs. We will be updating this page regularly. Below, you will see our photographs; please click on your child's teacher to find their schedules and contact information. Beginning on August 31st you will find a "daily lessons" section at the top right hand side of the home page. This will be where you will click each morning to access the daily video slide deck. Your kindergarten teacher will walk you through this in a small group before 8/31, so don't worry!

We are in the midst of crazy times and want to lead with grace--grace for ourselves, each other, and the students. We are here to support you and can't wait to begin working with your student!
