Question: Hi Tien, when I need to adjust Datum elements such as Grids/Levels and avoid affecting 3D Grids/Levels, I have to change them to 2D Extents by clicking one by one manually. Do you how to do it quickly?
Answer: YES. I have already created a tool for this but in this topic, I will try to use all the power of the original Revit. When you turn on the Crop View in Revit and the Crop Region cut through Datum elements, all the Datums that have been cut will switch to 2D Extents automatically.
As you can see in the image below. Every grid cut through the crop region will switch to 2D Extents which are highlighted in yellow, and others still keep 3D Extents which are highlighted in Green.
Additional: You can edit the Crop Region to suit your requirement. If you don't edit it in 2D Extents mode, it will change back to 3D Extents when you Uncrop view.
So if you want to keep the 2D Extents mode when Uncrop view or even edit the Crop Region to not cut through Grids/Levels. You have to drag it when it stays in 2D Extents mode.
Hope this helps!
