Object Style in Family and Project

Question: Hi Tien, I have edited the line style in the family but when I load in the project the line style wasn't changed. Do you know why?

In the image below I change the Object Style of Detail Items

• Projection: 6

• Line Color: Red

• Line Pattern: Dash

But when I load it to the project, it doesn't change

Answer: The Detail Item line has already had in the project so it will use the line style set up in the project to apply to the family whenever the family is loaded to the project.

To change the Detail Item line in the project, please change it in the Project's Object Style also.

Extra Note: Please note that if you change the line style in Project's Object Style it will affect all the lines which have that line style in the project. So if you just want to do that for nominated families, please create a new line in the family

To create a new line in Family, please select New in Modify Subcategories

It will create a new line style for Detail Items, when you load the family into the project the new line style will be added to the project too.

In the case, that the project has already had the same name as the new line style, it will override the line style of the Family same as the topic's reason
