The App is designed as a **fully offline revision and study tool** for locally saved notes, PDFs, videos, images, and other study materials. It does not require an internet connection for core functionality.
To function properly as a revision app, it needs access to certain device resources (local data only):
**A. Device Permissions (Local Data Only)**
- **Storage / Photos & Media** — We require access to your device's storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or equivalent modern scoped storage permissions) solely to scan, list, read, and display your locally saved study files (notes, PDFs, videos, images, etc.). We do not upload, share, transmit, or back up any of your files or media to any server.
- **Other permissions** — May include audio playback controls, volume management, or wake lock (for smooth video/note playback during revision sessions). No permission is used for tracking or advertising.
**B. Non-Personal / Technical Information**
We may automatically collect limited, non-personal information **only** for app improvement and bug fixing:
- Device manufacturer and model
- Android version / OS build
- Anonymized crash reports and basic performance metrics
None of this information can identify you personally.
### 2. No Third-Party Advertising or Analytics
RevisionBoss is completely **ad-free**.
We do not display advertisements of any kind.
We do not use Google AdMob, Facebook Audience Network, or any other advertising network.
We also do not integrate any third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics for Firebase or similar tools) that track user behavior.
### 3. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we access **only** for these purposes:
- To enable the core functionality of the App (scanning, listing, and displaying your local study files for revision)
- To improve stability and fix crashes using anonymized crash logs
- Nothing else — your study materials and files stay **100% on your device**
### 4. Data Security
Since RevisionBoss operates entirely offline and does not send your personal files, notes, or media to any server, your study materials remain secure on your device.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any non-personal data we temporarily handle (such as anonymized crash logs).

RevisionBoss is not directed to children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with any information, we will delete it immediately.
