Watch prerecorded videos on each of the proposed projects
Introduce yourself to other participants
Chat with project leaders: ask your questions on their project, if any, or just get to know them before the event!
You will be assigned to 3 to 5 30-minute meetings with a group leader and workshop participants. See who you get along with and who gets you excited to work together. Fill out the first-day survey by 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific.
Meet your new team!! If possible, plan to be free at 3pm Eastern/noon Pacific to meet your team and set up your work schedule for the next two weeks.
We hope that everyone can commit to an average of 3 hours of teamwork per day, but if fewer longer days work better, we encourage each team to find a work schedule that accommodates its participants.
An important part of this workshop is to give us time and space to rethink our community. How can number theory be a place of liberation and joy for all?
Thursday Oct 8, 3pm Eastern/noon Pacific: Liberate conferences
Tuesday Oct 13, 3pm Eastern/noon Pacific: Liberate the hiring process
Thursday Oct 15, 3pm Eastern/noon Pacific: Liberate grant applications
On weekdays when we do not have a Liberate session, we will meet at 3pm Eastern/noon Pacific for an all-hands meeting (October 7, 9, 14 and 16; no meeting on Indigenous People's Day). During that time we will catch each other up on the work we are doing via short presentations.
