The Sustainable Water Systems Lab focuses on developing innovative technologies and policies to ensure clean, resilient, and equitable water infrastructure. Our research addresses water treatment, reuse, climate adaptation, and resource recovery across urban and rural contexts.
We collaborate with municipalities, NGOs, and international partners to apply our work in real-world settings — from decentralized systems in rural communities to advanced treatment in megacities.
Designing low-cost, portable treatment units for water reuse in underserved regions.
Assessing microbial community stability in treatment systems under climate stressors.
Integrating waste-to-resource technologies in unregulated urban environments.
Modeling how drought and flood events impact system performance and equity.
