For each SDK that your app requires, include the dependency for that SDK.This page includes a section that lists common Google Play servicesdependencies for Android apps. You might also want to addFirebase dependencies to yourproject.

New versions of the Google Play services SDKs with bug fixes and new featuresare periodically released. These updates are announced in the releasenotes. If your app uses a dependency that has beenupdated, change to the latest version in your app's dependencies to takeadvantage of these fixes.

As described in the Google Play services overview,Google Play services receives automatic updates on Android5.0 (API level 21) and higherthrough the Google Play Store app. However, Android devices without Google PlayStore don't have Google Play services installed. If your app runs on deviceswithout Google Play services, you might want to check to see if Google Playservices is installed on the device before you attempt to use Google APIs, orenable features in your app that require Google Play services to function.

The following table lists the dependencies for Google Play services that you caninclude in your Android app. You can filter the list by device type by selectingone of the buttons, and you can search for a specific use case or dependencyname by entering text into the box that appears after the buttons.

Google Play services also includes several Gradle plugins, as shown in thefollowing table. Note that the buttons that appear before the previous tabledon't change the information that appears in this table.

Google Play services collects data on certified Android devices to support core device features. Collection of limited basic information, such as an IP address, is necessary to deliver content to a device, app, or browser. Device manufacturers also provide Google Play services with permission to access certain data on a device, such as location and contacts, to support these features.

Actual data collection varies depending on device settings configured by a user, the apps and services installed or used on a device, the device manufacturer, and a user's Google account settings. In many instances, Google Play services will access data locally on the device without collecting data off the device.

As described above, Google Play services provides a number of APIs and core device services that enable Android to be a feature-rich, connected platform. Google may collect data about these services and APIs to help provide, maintain and improve them. Depending on device settings, Google may collect additional information about a device. Examples include:

While the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) provides common, device-level functionalities such as email and calling, GMS is not part of AOSP. GMS is only available through a license with Google and delivers a holistic set of popular apps and cloud-based services. Note that GMS apps can vary based on country availability and requirements.2

Description: error: Error: No resource found that matches the given name (at 'value' with value '@integer/google_play_services_version').Resource: AndroidManifest.xmlLocation: line 75Type: Android AAPT Problem

I am trying to implement the solution I see at _google_play_services_to_your_project, under "Add Google Play Services to Your Project", in the "OTHER" tab. I have already fixed this error in Android Studio by using the following line in the dependencies {} section of my app/build.grandle file:

In the instructions at _google_play_services_to_your_project, it says: "Copy the library project at /extras/google/google_play_services/libproject/google-play-services_lib/ to the location where you maintain your Android app projects."

I implemented the solution that Andrew S provided at Missing "/extras/google/google_play_services/libproject" folder after update to revision 30. First, I downloaded -ssl.google.com/android/repository/google_play_services_8298000_r28.zip. That means that instead of the Google Play services, revision 39 that I was trying to use, I went to the older revision 28.

From Eclipse I used File > Import... > Android > Existing Android Code Into Workspace > Root Directory: C:\Users\jaimemontoya\android-sdks\extras\google\google-play-services\libproject\google-play-services_lib

Then from the Eclipse Package Explorer I right-clicked my project, went to Properties, after that clicked Android and finally after scrolling down I used the "Add..." button to add the google-play-services_lib library. It will appeared as one of the added libraries:

You can also use the latest versions of GPS with Eclipse ADT. With version 68 of the Google Repository downloaded via SDK Manager from Studio, navigate to $ANDROID_SDK_ROOT/extras/google/m2repository/com/google/android/gms. For each service needed, go to subdirectory #PLAY_SERVICE_NEEDED#/$VERSION and extract the contained AAR file (which is just a zip file). Within the AAR, you will find classes.jar, a manifest and res(sources) from which you can make an ADT compatible library project.

We also collect the content you create, upload, or receive from others when using our services. This includes things like email you write and receive, photos and videos you save, docs and spreadsheets you create, and comments you make on YouTube videos.

We collect information about the apps, browsers, and devices you use to access Google services, which helps us provide features like automatic product updates and dimming your screen if your battery runs low.

The information we collect includes unique identifiers, browser type and settings, device type and settings, operating system, mobile network information including carrier name and phone number, and application version number. We also collect information about the interaction of your apps, browsers, and devices with our services, including IP address, crash reports, system activity, and the date, time, and referrer URL of your request.

If you use our services to make and receive calls or send and receive messages, we may collect call and message log information like your phone number, calling-party number, receiving-party number, forwarding numbers, sender and recipient email address, time and date of calls and messages, duration of calls, routing information, and types and volumes of calls and messages.

We collect information about your location when you use our services, which helps us offer features like driving directions, search results for things near you, and ads based on your general location.

We use data for analytics and measurement to understand how our services are used. For example, we analyze data about your visits to our sites to do things like optimize product design. And we also use data about the ads you interact with to help advertisers understand the performance of their ad campaigns. We use a variety of tools to do this, including Google Analytics. When you visit sites or use apps that use Google Analytics, a Google Analytics customer may choose to enable Google to link information about your activity from that site or app with activity from other sites or apps that use our ad services.

We use information to help improve the safety and reliability of our services. This includes detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud, abuse, security risks, and technical issues that could harm Google, our users, or the public.

We use different technologies to process your information for these purposes. We use automated systems that analyze your content to provide you with things like customized search results, personalized ads, or other features tailored to how you use our services. And we analyze your content to help us detect abuse such as spam, malware, and illegal content. We also use algorithms to recognize patterns in data. For example, Google Translate helps people communicate across languages by detecting common language patterns in phrases you ask it to translate.

Many of our services let you share information with other people, and you have control over how you share. For example, you can share videos on YouTube publicly or you can decide to keep your videos private. Remember, when you share information publicly, your content may become accessible through search engines, including Google Search.

When you delete data, we follow a deletion process to make sure that your data is safely and completely removed from our servers or retained only in anonymized form. We try to ensure that our services protect information from accidental or malicious deletion. Because of this, there may be delays between when you delete something and when copies are deleted from our active and backup systems.

U.S. state privacy laws also provide the right to request information about how Google collects, uses, and discloses your information. And they give you the right to access your information, sometimes in a portable format; correct your information; and to request that Google delete that information. Many of these laws also provide the right to opt out of certain forms of profiling and targeted advertising. They also provide the right to not be discriminated against for exercising these privacy rights. Finally, the CCPA treats certain kinds of information, like health data, as sensitive; when users provide this information, Google only uses it for purposes permitted by the CCPA, like to provide services that are requested and expected by our users.

Health information if you choose to provide it, such as your medical history, vital signs and health metrics (like blood glucose levels), and other similar information related to your physical or mental health, in the course of using Google services that offer health-related features, such as the Google Health Studies app.

Protecting against security threats, abuse, and illegal activity: Google uses and may disclose information to detect, prevent and respond to security incidents, and for protecting against other malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity. For example, to protect our services, Google may receive or disclose information about IP addresses that malicious actors have compromised. 17dc91bb1f
