I will try that and let you know thanks.

I had another thought. Perhaps there is a DOS based firmware updater for this chip.

The updaters I have tried are all Windows based so if I boot into DOS and run a dos based firmware updater for the NEC/ RENESAS that might work. Anybody know of a DOS based Firmware updater for the NEC uPD720200F1 USB3.0 host controller?

Hi sbertrand,

Back when I was working on our issue, I read that some controller drivers use incorrect requests to get descriptors: e.g. wrong bType, bTarget, bRequest. If you have an USB analyzer, you can find out the details of your controller's descriptor requests. With this knowledge you can adapt your descriptor handling in the FX3, so it responds to this (incorrect) request with the expected descriptor, compensating for the controller bug?

I'm thinking about buying a USB 3.0 PCI-E controller based on a NEC chipset and I wonder if it'll work properly under W2k. I've already checked the drivers and there are no dependency issues so theoretically there's a high probability that they'd work. The manufacturer of the controller also states that these drivers are for 2K / XP.

The rest of the stuff included in the package should not be needed. I also don't own any NEC USB 3.0 controller so I can't test it. My predictions are that the result will be similar to the Etron one I've got here. The driver can be installed but doesn't start

delay the controller should apply after the instruction has beenissued on the bus. Most modern controllers have internal timingscontrol logic, and in this case, the controller driver can ignorethis field.

A pattern is a list of elements, each element reprensenting one instructionwith its constraints. The pattern itself is used by the core to match NANDchip operation with NAND controller operations.Once a match between a NAND controller operation pattern and a NAND chipoperation (or a sub-set of a NAND operation) is found, the pattern ->exec()hook is called so that the controller driver can issue the operation on thebus.

Helper function designed to ease integration of NAND controller drivers thatonly support a limited set of instruction sequences. The supported sequencesare described in parser, and the framework takes care of splitting op intomultiple sub-operations (if required) and pass them back to the ->exec()callback of the matching pattern if check_only is set to false.

Check if pat matches the set or a sub-set of instructions remaining in ctx.Returns true if this is the case, false ortherwise. When true is returned,ctx->subop is updated with the set of instructions to be passed to thecontroller driver.

This helper used to be called directly from controller drivers that neededto tweak some ECC-related parameters before nand_scan_tail(). This separationprevented dynamic allocations during this phase which was unconvenient andas been banned for the benefit of the ->init_ecc()/cleanup_ecc() hooks. ff782bc1db
