Enter the name of the remote PC into PC name. This name can be a Windows computer name, an Internet domain name, or an IP address. You can also append port information to the PC name (for example, MyDesktop:3389 or 10.0.0.1:3389). This field is the only required field.

The Remote Desktop client supports using the Android widget feature to pin connections to your home screen. The widget adding process depends on which type of Android device and Android OS version you're using.

If you connect to a PC running Windows 8 or earlier, the session won't scale correctly if the orientation of the device changes. To make the client scale correctly, disconnect from the PC, then reconnect in the orientation you want to use. You can also ensure correct scaling by using a PC with Windows 10 instead.

Resolution sets the remote resolution you want to use for desktop connections globally. If you have already set a custom resolution for an individual connection, this setting won't change that.

When you change the display settings, the changes only apply to new connections you make after the you changed the setting. To apply your changes to the session you're currently connected to, refresh your session by disconnecting and reconnecting.

A Remote Desktop Gateway (RD Gateway) lets you connect to a remote computer on a private network from anywhere on the Internet. You can create and manage your gateways using the Remote Desktop client.

You can have multiple connections open to different PCs at the same time. Tap the connection bar to display the session selection bar on the left side of the screen. The session selection bar lets you view your open connections and switch between them.

Tap the connection bar to display the command bar on the right side of the screen. On the command bar, you can switch between mouse modes (direct touch and mouse pointer) or tap the Home button to return to the Connection Center. You can also tap the Back button to return to the Connection Center. Returning to the Connection Center won't disconnect your active session.

The Remote Desktop for Android client uses standard touch gestures. You can also use touch gestures to replicate mouse actions on the remote desktop. The following table explains which gestures match which mouse actions in each mouse mode.

I am developing mobile application in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. I connect to my computer via remote desktop and my operating system is Windows Server 2012 R2. In order to test the application, I use mobile device emulator. I can run device emulator but there occurs a problem when I try to cradle the device. I found out that this is because wmdc cannot run via remote desktop. Is there any way to run wmdc via remote desktop? I searched other topics but there is no solution to this.

The Windows Mobile device center fails to connect to the Microsoft emulator when one tries to access it via RDP. But it works fine when used via VNC. Install VNC software such as TightVNC on your server and also on your computer. Configure the TightVNC. From your computer try to connect to the emulator running on the server via TightVNC client. It just works fine.

The right soft-key is a toggle between full-screen viewing and normal viewing with menus and navigation bars displayed. You can choose to display more colors but I left it at the default 256 colors to speed up the display.

To Richard Ward. My Assumption you work with XP sp2. You must activate remote desktop from your pc. You must have user name login and also the password on your login pc. Without password you can not remote your pc.

I have computer with installed windows 8 pro at home. This computer plugged in to router via LAN cable. I configured remote desktop on this computer: System Properties -> Remote -> Allow remote connections to this computer ("Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication" unchecked). I also configured router to forward the Remote Desktop port (3389) from the Internet IP address of router to the Local IP of my host. I checked forwarding at -ports/ - Port 3389 is open.

"Remote desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons:1) Remote access to the server is not enabled2) The remote computer is turned off3) The remote computer is not available on the networkMake sure the remote computer is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled. "

You might want to check the security settings. What I mean by this is how the authentication is being passed in the RDP session. I would lower it all the way down and see if that works. If it does, you can increase it until it doesn't work. Make sure the settings are the same on both ends. I had this issue once before and the authentication was the issue.

When you use a proxy for connecting to Internet the computer usually don't have direct/NAT access to Internet, instead programs designed to use a proxy (mostly browsers) connect to the proxy server, then the proxy server retrieves the requested content from Internet (or from a local cache in some cases) and pass it back to your computer.

Remote control Windows Mobile / Windows CE devices from any PC, Mac, Smartphone or Tablet running a WiseMo Guest module. It is just as if the device was right in front of you.

When you connect from a Windows PC, a picture of the remote device is shown, this is called a Skin. You see the remote screen in real-time inside the Skin. Use the mouse on your computer to click on the desktop of the remote device, or click on the buttons shown on the Skin. You can even use the keyboard on your computer to enter keystrokes on the remote device, easier than clicking your way through.

If you do not see an image that is exactly as your real device, we do not yet have your device in our Skin database. Instead you will see a default Skin. Let us hear from you, so we can create an exact Skin for your type of device.

While some configuration settings are available right from the user interface of your WiseMo Mobile Host, there are many advanced settings to help you tailor the Mobile Host to your specific needs and requirements.

For complete configuration of a WiseMo Mobile Host, we provide you with our Mobile Host configuration manager, a Windows program so you from the comfort of your PC can configure all settings for the Mobile Host. This includes the most advanced security and connectivity settings as well as defining a name of your choice as a unique ID for the Host device. Configuration settings are stored in an XML file. This configuration file is deployed to the Mobile Host, for example directly from your PC, or via upload to your WiseMo myCloud domain, from where it can be deployed together with the Mobile Host installation files.

Continuum for Windows phones lets you turn your phone into a PC-like experience by connecting an external display, keyboard, and mouse using the new Microsoft Display Dock. The experience on the phone (start screen, calls etc) remains completely independent of the PC-like experience on the external display.

Glad to hear remote desktop is in the works for use with continuum. I have the 950-XL and have connected wirelessly and with dock and both work well although slightly quicker response with dock. I also tried Citrix to access applications through edge browser but could not get it to display to the screen. I am not sure if that is an issue with Continuum or Citrix compatibility with Edge. Did they provide any timeline on using remote desktop? Hopefully they get it soon. It would be a real boost.

The preview of the Remote Desktop Windows 10 (Universal) App mentioned in this article is now available. Please see this post from Microsoft:

Firewall configurations that restrict outbound access to Duo's service with rules using destination IP addresses or IP address ranges aren't recommended, since these may change over time to maintain our service's high availability. If your organization requires IP-based rules, please review Duo Knowledge Base article 1337.

The Duo username (or username alias) should match the Windows username. When you create your new RDP application in Duo the username normalization setting defaults to "Simple", which means that the if the application sends the usernames "jsmith," "DOMAIN\jsmith," and "jsmith@domain.com" to Duo at login these would all resolve to a single "jsmith" Duo user.

Duo for Windows Logon supports Duo Push, phone callback or SMS passcodes, and passcodes generated by Duo Mobile or a hardware token as authentication methods. Duo users must have one of these methods available to complete 2FA authentication.

Before moving on to the deployment steps, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with Duo administration concepts and features like options for applications, available methods for enrolling Duo users, and Duo policy settings and how to apply them. See all Duo Administrator documentation. 152ee80cbc
