I was professor at Lille University in Computer Science. I am retired but still active as "professeur émérite".

  • Research: I have done research in Theoretical Computer Science and in Machine Learning.

  • Teaching: I gave lectures on machine learning, on databases (relational and NoSQL), information retrieval and semantic Web.

  • News: a book (in french) introducing machine learning was recently published, a presentation (in french) on Artificial Intelligence

  • Spare-time: visit, walking and trekking (recently Ladakh, Uzbekistan, Jordan, China and Japan). I am tennis player and have the 30-1 ranking. I was coach in the JFL basket-ball club.

  • Family: I have three children Clément, Justine and Martin; two granddaughters Bahia and Lili and two grandsons Abel and Gatien
