Real time tsunami risk prediction | リアルタイム津波リスク評価

In this research, thousands of potential tsunami scenarios are simulated in advance for regions where tsunami impacts are anticipated. During an actual event, the most likely scenario is identified from the precomputed simulation database, enabling rapid and reliable risk assessment. This work has been conducted in collaboration with my students, colleagues in my laboratory and department (Prof.Shunichi Koshimura, Prof. Yu Otake), and an international research team including Prof. Randall J. LeVeque at the University of Washington and Prof. Donsub Rim at Washington University in St. Louis. 

津波の襲来が予想される地域に対してあらかじめ数千件の考えられうる津波シナリオを想定したシミュレーションを行い、実際の津波発生時はシミュレーション結果の中から最も似たシナリオ（最尤シナリオ）を同定することで、迅速にリスクを評価しようとした研究です．研究室の先生方や学生さんに加え，東北大学の先生方（越村俊一先生，大竹雄先生），ワシントン大学・Randall J. LeVeque教授，Donsub Rim助教らのチームと共に取り組んできました．
