PSV Taxi-Cab Drivers (FAKE REGULATION)
- A Schroedinger's Cat Regulation! (Taxis on Taxi Ranks)
Once again we head off to Planet DVS for another episode of “you couldn't make it up”........
On 13 September 2024 Planet DVS sent an email to all Taxi Companies (Appendix 1) which stated that Taxi Drivers leaving Taxis unattended on the Public Taxi Ranks will be issued parking tickets by Traffic Wardens.
However, there are no Laws or Regulations that determine how a Taxi can be parked on a Taxi Rank. None. Nada. Zilch.
(Whether there should be or not is a separate matter – there currently isn't any Regulation on how Taxis must operate from the Public Ranks. The only Regulation that legally exists about parking on Taxi Ranks is to prohibit Private Vehicles).
Same as outside the Taxi Industry (aka the real world) if a Law does not legally exist an Offence cannot be enforced via the Courts.
On 22 Sept 2024 an Email was sent to Planet DVS (Appendix 2) advising of the above.
At that point anyone vaguely competent (sane?!) had 2 options:
Look again at the Laws & Regulations and quote them exactly to demonstrate they were unequivocally right.
or
Say “Ooops” – Parking Tickets will not be issued until a Regulation legally exists.
But you would not be reading this if Planet DVS hadn't gone for a 3rd option by email dated 26 Sept 2024 (Appendix 3) of doubling down with a Schroedinger's Cat based Regulation! - by both stating the Regulation exists and doesn't!, whilst providing evidence that it doesn't exist as evidence it does!
“It makes no sense – because it makes no sense”.
A Letter dated 28 Sept 2024 was sent to DVS (Appendix 4) pointing out that their “explanation” was Contradictory Nonsense – Politeness traded for simplicity as evidently dealing with people who don't understand the basic requirement for a Regulation to be enforced (that it first has to Legally exist – ie wishful thinking is not enough). Politeness included limiting the use of Crayon.
My WAG is not even DVS daft enough to test their “Understanding” lol by having Parking Tickets challenged and overturned in Court, but its www.DVS.LoL so wouldn't fall off my chair.........
