Make your own hummingbird food

For a 2 quart pitcher add 2 cups of sugar. The ratio is 4/1 water to sugar. Making 2 quart pitcher allows you to save some in the refrigerator to replenish your feeders often. You may get as many as a few dozen hummingbirds to your feeders daily. Feeders should be cleaned every couple of days and unused nectar should be discarded. There is no need for color in your hummingbird food or nectar, it can be very dangerous to the birds.
