Traffic Engineer
Traffic design to ensure cars can manoeuvring in the new development. Generally in the State of Victoria:
Residential house developments - 1 carparking space for 2 bedroom dwelling. 2 carparking spaces for more than 2 bedrooms.
Carport & garage (single) 3.5 x 6m deep | (double) 5.5 x 6m deep. Outdoor carpark 3m x 6m deep. Tandem parking needs to add 0.5m to the length.
For driveway serves more than 3 cars or exits to a main road, all cars must head out in the forward direction.
To reverse correctly, all cars must have 7m of backing space. Allow 8.5 meters if cars reverse to stop outside other spaces before heading out.
Other developments - carparking numbers and reversing space to be design by traffic engineer.

Some notes:
Most councils do not require concrete driveway under the overhanging lines. We can ask Council about that requirement.
Arborist
The trees on the site will impact the size of the new dwellings.
How can we maximize the building area while complying with the tree requirements?
An arborist is the expert that studies trees. They put together information about the value of the trees on site. Here's information about reading an arborist report and some ways to justify our proposed development.
General Idea
Some Council do not value trees.
For Councils value trees, it usually shows in the Planning Scheme as having vegetarian protection overlay, landscaping overlay, or similar. We will consider the tree value and present to Council removing the low value trees. High value trees need to retain.
Gum tree - High value
Norfork Island pipe - Low value
Example of tree value above. There is a large range of different tree species. We need an arborist to work out the value of the trees. The above is an example for us to have a concept about trees only.
Start - Provide information to arborist
Provide landscaping plan
Provide our design
Arborist provide arborist report and tree protection management plan to us at the end.
This video discuss how to:
Read the arborist information;
Possible ways we design to get around the problem.
Trees within 2m from existing house can be removed without a Planning Permit (Different council may differ.)
If the works do not impact high value trees more than existing.
If building single house on single site, design more than 4m away from trees. (Different council may differ.)
