Carlos de los Angeles (b. 1989) was born into a series of fluid dichotomies, all of which shaped him deeply as a person. A Filipino-American with roots in New York and Florida, Carlos came of age in a family of artists, musicians, and writers as well as a wide range of medical professionals specializing in different fields. Being influenced by both sides of the coin ultimately helped develop Carlos's world view and photographic eye.
Photography danced in and out of Carlos's early life, initially drawn to the medium while documenting his friends skateboarding during his childhood. After a brief hiatus, photography once again resurfaced when his father gifted him his first "real" camera while in college. Carlos was fortunate and grateful to spend a semester abroad in Italy where street/documentary photography was able to imprint into his life in a permanent way. He continues to find joy in finding his visual voice and remains passionate in exploring and honoring the different cultures of the world.
