Actually MEP and VPX use the Magix Low latency 2016 (V2.13) ASIO driver by default which is a version of the ASIO4All driver. As I'm using an inboard RealTek sound chip though that may make a difference. The settings can't be accessed via the program. Only the buffer settings seem to be able to be changed in the program settings. The ASIO driver does not appear in the task bar as it would when using another application. I have no idea why.

Maybe I should have been more precise with my reply. I should have said 'Without a Stereo Mix option I know of no other way to get two programs within Windows to share audio with each other. Without that I could not use Cubase and MEP with each other. However if you do find another video editor that will do this without that function I would be interested if you reported back.

I previously wrote that I am using a MOTU 8-Pre Audio Interface; I trust you will accept it is studio grade hardware? You have previously been advised that it is not possible to get two programs within Windows to share audio with each other unless you have, and can activate the Stereo Mix option. If you cannot do so perhaps you should aim your comments to Microsoft, who, under pressure from the RIAA, have hidden or even disabled it on many modern computers.

Assuming I have the correct product selected this seems to infer that the audio interface is incapable of connecting to two programs at once. The interface would only be available to the last opened program.

If the 'software' is Music Maker or similar and is using the ASIO driver for input and/or output then it is not possible for other programs to uses/access the sound card. I have not got the Windows option that @CubeAce suggested to work

It is a monitoring program within Windows 10 that helps Windows to know which program is trying to access your camera of microphone for security reasons. Turning it off sometimes prevents some programs from accessing other inputs. It does no harm leaving it on.

I am not trying to connect to 2 programs at once. I only mentioned MM to state that I could use the Apollo in MM. I'm not trying to use MM at the same time, or any other program at the same time. I'm only trying to record Screen Capture audio and video in MEP.

I use an Apollo Twin w/thunderbolt as an interface, and there is a signal from the mic and the guitar to the apollo, and I can hear it in my monitors, but it just does not register in Logic. The input settings are also correct and the apollo is the chosen O/I device in "preferences". Cables also work. I've upgraded to Sierra, but this trouble actually occured on the previous OS version, like I said, just form one day to the next, without me having downloaded or done anything.

I am no professional so my abilities are limited, but I have uninstalled and then reinnstalled Logic and I have downloaded the latest driver for the Apollo. No luck. I have also tried the seemingly random google-advices to turn off count in and turn on "built in settings"-switch back to the apollo in "preferences". None have worked, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The apollo driver is the latest one accessible, and the one UA says is compatible with my current OS. Also I can mention that the midi works just fine, Tidal plays through the Apollo fine, so I would assume the apollo and the cable work.

Yup. Itunes, youtube and Tidal, you name it, all work perfectly. Play through the apollo like nothing. Only thing not working is recording audio. Both mic and guitar inputs are dead flat on the logic track, but audible in the monitors.

Sample Rate and buffer size changing on the fly and at random. I have a UAD Firewire. Before I start cakewalk its at 44k/512 buffer. I start cakewalk and it changes to 192k/256 buffer. I have to close cakewalk and try again and hope it work. Than when I does start at the right sample rate, the buffer will still drop audio at random and change the buffer of my apollo after. I have to change it back in apollos console settings and start and stop audio playback.

Hi, surprise here: Out of despair, contrary to my habits of leaving websites on the navigation bar when I turn off the computer at night, I quit ALL programs on the computer and lo and behold, Apollo turned on the next day.

And yet, I have over 300gb of music-related programs, plug-ins and drivers on both of my computers and none (including the Line6 ones) have ever failed in over 10 years of full-time daily use in either my studio or live system. I wonder what the difference could be? Oh yeah..you install and maintain the software on your computer, and I do the same on mine!!!

With that being said, I recently bought a POD Pro, knowing full well that support was over. I bought it for nostalgic purposes only, but I do run Windows XP in a VM on my machine, and pass through a USB-Midi adapter to the VM and run the Line 6 Pod Pro Edit program so that I can still access hidden features like noise gate threshold and such. It's actually better than running it natively, because I don't have outdated Java 1.6 running on my Windows 11 machine, and I can scale the VM window to make the Line 6 Edit interface nice and big. Also the audio processing is done in the Pod, not in the software, so no audio driver clicks or pops or anything else, it works perfectly.

I have got the same problem.

Yesterday I used the software with success, but today the same message appeared as the author of this post. However, I don't recall any windows update.

The Windows I am currently using is the Windows 10 Enterprise (Version 20H2 Compilation SO 19042.1110).

After trying to repair the program, I tried to reinstall using the .msi file provided by my employer.

Afterward, I tried the same but with the most recent version of the client (VPN E85.10; file version 98.63.3.105), however, I had the same output.


Hopefully, a way to fix this will be released.
