Topic: Girls' Education in Developing Countries
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), headquartered in Paris, was formed in 1946 to make global progress in five areas: education, natural sciences, culture, communication, and social/human sciences. Their programs have covered teacher training, access to education, and proliferation of literacy. We will discuss on these issues, with a focus on factors that limit girls’ access to education, and what UNESCO can do to help.
