Office of the Inspector General
The Office of the Inspector General
The Office of the Inspector General of the Ethics Committee is the organization responsible for ensuring the Ethics Committee acts responsibly and within the bounds of its authority. The Office of the Inspector General is led by the Inspector General of the Ethics Committee, a position currently held by bonboo52 since November 16th, 2022.
The Inspector General is appointed by the O5 Council every four months, the O5 Council either votes to retain the current Inspector General or appoint a new one.
Ensuring Responsibility
The Ethics Committee is the sole department with the power to investigate and punish individuals, making it an incredibly powerful entity. To ensure the Ethics Committee does not act with malice and that the Committee responsibly carries itself, the Inspector General is responsible for ensuring regulations are upheld and corruption is reported and investigated.
Ensuring Ethical Investigations
The Inspector General may appoint third-party Inspectors that assist with Ethics Committee investigations, or themselves investigate the Ethics Committee and its investigations.
Reporting
The Inspector General has a permanent and immediate audience with the O5 Council, should there be a case where the Ethics Committee acts with malice and the situation cannot be resolved internally, the Inspector General may report to the O5 Council with findings and recommendations.
To report suspicious activity to the Inspector General, you may direct message them or open a ticket in the Ethics Committee discord server.
