I just got the Xiaomi 11T and today I tried making a call with it and recording it, I started the recording, and when the call ended it said the recording was saved, how ever, when I go to the file manager and go to MIUI > sound_recorder > call_rec, its empty, no mp3 files, I'm sure it saved the recording because when I go into the settings of Call recording it says there are 2 recordings, 3 MB.

I've upgraded my phone with an Android 12, and I am discouraged about what has happened with call recordings. Google has forbidden it for Europe and US (for personal private reasons they say). My unsuccessful steps:

I have tested many recorders, some seem to work in US. Many of them have to allow accessibility mode to work. But for me none of them I haven't succeed to record the sound of the other person. And unfortunately I am not a programmer.

Then, with this impossible to tournaround, I have to decide to Root the phone. There is a solution, root it, install "GApps Mod", activate call recording, and unroot it again to avoid problems with banks apps. But this would be my last option, as the risks are higher than maybe my interest in call recording.

I got an idea, install an android 9 emulator (Virtual Master), there, install a call recorder, and work in parallel with the phone version while calling. It hasn't worked, seems that recording goes through the base system and not the emulated.

I've used a lot of Xiaomi phones in the past and I've always liked how MIUI supports call recording natively. For other phone brands, they rely on 3rd party call recording apps and sometimes they even require root or other methods to get the recording to work decently.

Well, I've recently purchased my first 5G phone - Redmi Note 9T. It turns out on the latest MIUI or the latest Xiaomi devices, they ship with the Google Phone dialer instead of the Xiaomi phone dialer. This means that the native call recording option is no longer supported.

The problem is that when you click on Record, it will play a message (this call is being recorded) to let the other party know that this call is being recorded. It's annoying and I don't necessarily want the other party to know that I'm recording the call. I know that reading up to this point, some people might ask questions. Yes, call recording is legal in my country and this isn't the point of the discussion, so let's not waste time discussing this part further.

However, I found something interesting during my tests. If Skvalex Call Recorder is installed, then when I make a call with Google Phone dialer and tap the Record button (in Google Phone dialer), the message "this call is being recorded" will play twice on my phone, but it won't play over the call. Basically, instead of playing the message for the caller and for the other party, it plays both message for just the caller. This only happens when you have Skvalex Call Recorder installed and enabled and it doesn't matter how the Skvalex Call Recorder settings are configured. I thought perhaps it's a bug, so I've uninstalled Skavalex Call Recorder, restarted my phone and ran the same test again. It's the same behaviour.

So I think what's happening is that when Skvalex Call Recorder is recording a call and then you use Google Phone dialer to record the call as well, there's a conflict and somehow the message "this call is being recorded" doesn't get transmitted across (which is good). So technically, you can just use Google Phone dialer to make high clarity recordings, but the caveat is to have Skvalex Call Recorder installed and running at the same time.

I'm working auto call recorder app, I'm able to record voice call on below android 6 using MediaRecorder.AudioSource.VOICE_CALL, From android 6 not able to record voice call using VOICE_CALL. I managed to record using MediaRecorder.AudioSource.MIC but here incoming voice not getting recorded and I want to record voice call in normal mode not in speaker on mode. Please help me on this. In my previous Redmi phone there was a default recording feature for recording all calls and "THIS CALL IS NOW BEING RECORDED" did NOT play at the beginning, it was a good feature to recall any missed details etc.
