1. Information We Collect
Recover Deleted Messages does not require users to create an account or provide personally identifiable information to use the app. Our core functionality (saving messages and statuses) happens entirely offline and locally on your device. We may collect limited non-personal and technical information to provide, maintain, and optimize the app.
A. Device & App Usage Information
To improve app performance, serve advertisements, and diagnose technical issues, we may collect:
Notification Data (Local Only): To recover messages, the app reads your notifications. This data is encrypted and stored strictly on your local device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your private messages, chat histories, or saved statuses on our remote servers.
Device Diagnostics: Device performance statistics, hardware model, operating system version, crash logs, and system logs.
2. Permissions We Request & Purpose
Our application requests specific Android permissions strictly to deliver its core message recovery, status saving, and utility features.
Notification Access (Core Functionality)
BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE
Purpose: This is essential for the app to function. It allows the app to securely listen to incoming notifications and save the text locally so you can view messages even if the sender deletes them.
Storage Permissions (For Media & Status Saver)
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (or READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO on Android 13+)
Purpose: To save downloaded media files (like photos, videos, and voice notes) attached to deleted messages, and to allow you to view and download statuses to your device gallery using the Status Saver feature.
Network & Internet Permissions
INTERNET
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Purpose: To verify license authenticity, load in-app ad units, perform crash reporting/analytics, and support app updates.
Advertising & Attribution Permissions
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID
ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID
ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION
Purpose: To serve relevant advertisements and measure campaign attribution performance. We do not personally identify individual users through advertising IDs.
Notifications & System Permissions
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Purpose: To send you alerts when a deleted message is successfully recovered or to provide app-related updates.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED & WAKE_LOCK
Purpose: To automatically restart the notification listening service when your phone reboots, ensuring you don't miss any deleted messages, and to process media downloads in the background.
Billing & Licensing Permissions
com.android.vending.BILLING
com.android.vending.CHECK_LICENSE
Purpose: To process seamless in-app purchases, manage premium subscriptions, and verify app license authenticity through Google Play.
Push & Install Attribution Permissions
com.google.android.c2dm.permission.RECEIVE
com.google.android.finsky.permission.BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE
Purpose: To support push notification delivery and track marketing install attribution for growth analytics.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information (and permissions) for various functional and operational purposes:
To locally capture and save notifications so you can recover deleted messages.
To enable the Status Saver feature, allowing you to browse and save media to your device.
To manage and display in-app advertisements through our mediation partners.
To process in-app billing transactions and premium subscriptions.
To diagnose bugs, address application crashes, and enhance overall app stability.
Note: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, messages, or device data to third parties. Your chat data never leaves your phone.
4. Third-Party Data Sharing, Ad Networks & SDKs
To keep our application free, we use third-party advertising networks and mediation platforms to serve ads. We also use analytics tools to monitor app stability. These third-party SDKs may collect non-personal data, such as your IP address, device model, and Advertising ID, to provide relevant ads and analyze app performance.
These services adhere to their own strict security and privacy policies. The third-party services integrated into our app include:
Analytics & Infrastructure:
Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (App Analytics & Crash Reporting)
Google Play Billing Library (In-App Purchase Processing)
Advertising & Mediation Networks:
Google AdMob / Google Ad Manager
AppLovin (MAX Mediation)
ironSource LevelPlay
Unity Ads
Meta Audience Network
Liftoff
Pangle (TikTok for Business)
Mintegral
Digital Turbine (DTX)
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or misuse. Because your messages and saved statuses are stored only locally on your physical device, they are inherently protected from remote server breaches. However, we recommend keeping a secure screen lock on your device to protect your local data from physical access.
6. Children’s Privacy
Recover Deleted Messages is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that personal data of a child under 13 has been collected, we will take immediate steps to delete such information.
7. User Choices & Control
You retain full control over your device data and app permissions:
Manage Permissions: You can revoke or grant app permissions (including Notification Access and Storage) at any time through your device settings (Settings > Apps > Recover Deleted Messages > Permissions / Special App Access).
Ad Tracking: You can opt-out of personalized advertising by resetting your device's Advertising ID or turning off Ads Personalization in your Android device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
Data Erasure: Uninstalling the application will immediately clear all saved messages, statuses, and locally stored app data from our database.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be reflected in the app or on the Google Play Store listing page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
