Rob Vance's "Slingshot"

"Slingshot" by Rob Vance will be out 6/7/2024

This EP is about the journey of releasing what no longer serves us and finding peace within the struggle of this process. Love is one of those things that requires us to let go, and through letting go of past loves and future expectations, we can grow into better humans. This took ages to record because I was holding onto this idea of perfection—big sweeping strings, powerful drums. But then, I let it all go and stripped it down to a simple acoustic session in my room. Letting go of perfection in this realm has opened me up to so much more experience in my own life and helped me to realize the interconnectedness of all things.

I've always been drawn to the raw emotion of live studio sessions like Mahogany, Colors, and NPR Tiny Desk, as well as the magic of live shows. So, instead of overproducing, I wanted to capture the soulful essence of these songs. I hope they resonate with you just as they do with me.

The album art was painted by Luca Schwartz (@ulubella on IG) and then I rearranged it in Photoshop to give it some of my own flair.
