Dr. Tara Jeji, PhD

Interests:

Dr. Jeji’s work for the past 18 years has been in the area of spinal cord injury especially the understanding the needs of those with SCI in order to increase their participation, role performance and functional independence and identify community supports required to live a dignified and independent life. She acquired a tetraplegic spinal cord injury 23 years ago and through personal experience has insight in the journey of living with a disability. Prior to ONF, Dr. Jeji worked in Detroit at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan and was Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Wayne State University. Her research into spinal cord injury has focused on both individuals with spinal cord injury their formal and informal caregivers. She is a member of several disability advisory committees and boards of consumer service agencies, as well as professional organizations in Canada and the U.S.
