As in our book, Speculative Pedagogies of Qualitative Inquiry (2020, Routledge), we invite attendees to (re)think the knowing, be(com)ing, and doing of qualitative inquiry. Through a practice of (re)etymologizing the definitions and origins of words, we conceptualize inquiry as (in)query, composed of the four concepts: uncertain, (w)rest(full), relational, and liveliness. In this session, we invite attendees to work-with, create-with, think-with their own research inquiries and/or pedagogical practices in relation to these four concepts and beyond. We will provide invitations and questions to prompt thinking along with printed passages from readings on post qualitative inquiry and post- theoretical concepts, excerpts from our book, and art materials. Attendees are also invited to bring in their own materials, readings, and writings. Our goal is to provoke thought on the doing, teaching, and learning of qualitative inquiry through making and be(com)ing together.
