These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Recol ("Recol," "we," "our," or "us"), including our iOS app, features, content, subscriptions, consumable coin packs, and related services. By creating an account, accessing Recol, or using any part of the service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Recol.
Recol is a private memory box app that lets users create Boxes with photos, videos, text, and memory timelines. Users may invite accepted friends to co-create a Box, send a completed Box to a friend, or seal a Box until a selected future date. Some Boxes may include a delivery note that appears when the recipient first opens the Box.
Recol is not designed as a public social feed. Its core experience is private memory recording, friend-based collaboration, private Box sending, sealed delivery, and personal memory organization.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country or region, to use Recol. If you are under the age of majority in your country or region, you may use Recol only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
By using Recol, you confirm that you are legally permitted to use the service and that your use does not violate any applicable laws or regulations.
To use certain features, you may need to create an account with an email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information and to update your information when needed. If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact us at recol321@outlook.com.
You may delete your account in the app where supported, or contact us for assistance. Deleting an account may permanently remove your account information and associated content, subject to technical, legal, security, fraud-prevention, and backup retention requirements.
"User Content" means any content you upload, create, send, record, or display through Recol, including photos, videos, text, delivery notes, profile information, chat messages, voice messages, Box timelines, Showcase Wall content, reports, and other materials.
You keep ownership of your User Content. By using Recol, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, process, display, and technically operate your User Content only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, and improve Recol.
You are responsible for your User Content and for ensuring that you have the rights, permissions, and consent needed to upload, share, send, or co-create it.
Recol includes friend-based features such as friend requests, private Box sending, co-creation invitations, chat, received Boxes, sent Boxes, and Showcase Wall visibility settings.
You understand that when you send a Box, invite someone to co-create a Box, send a delivery note, or share content in chat, the recipient or participant may be able to view that content depending on the feature and your privacy settings.
You should only send or share content with people you trust. Recol cannot control what another user does with content after they are permitted to view it, including screenshots, screen recordings, or offline copies.
Recol may allow you to send a Box that can only be opened on or after a selected date. We may display the Box as sealed before the opening date. The opening date feature depends on device time, server time, network availability, account status, and service availability.
We do not guarantee that a sealed Box will be delivered or opened at an exact second. A sealed Box may become available after the configured date when the recipient next opens the app, refreshes the service, or reconnects to the internet.
Recol may provide AI-assisted features, such as generating or improving memory story text based on Box context, selected photos, descriptions, and existing memory content.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, or not suitable for your intended purpose. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to save, publish, share, or send any AI-generated output.
When you use AI features, certain input content may be processed by third-party AI service providers to generate results. Do not submit content that you do not have the right to use, or content that is highly sensitive, confidential, or illegal.
AI features may be limited by free usage quotas, subscription level, coin balance, technical availability, or service-provider availability.
Recol may offer optional paid features through Apple In-App Purchase only. We do not use third-party payment processors for purchases inside the iOS app.
Paid offerings may include:
VIP auto-renewable subscriptions
SVIP auto-renewable subscriptions
Consumable coin packs
Subscription benefits may include expanded limits or access to selected features, such as more active Recording Boxes, more Showcase Wall capacity, more co-creator capacity, additional Memory AI usage, sealed delivery benefits, or other premium limits shown in the app.
Coins are consumable digital credits that may be used for certain in-app actions, such as sealed delivery, reopening completed Boxes, or extra Memory AI usage where available. Coins have no cash value, are not legal tender, are not transferable, and may not be redeemed outside Recol.
All iOS purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
Refund requests, billing issues, subscription cancellation, and payment-method management are handled by Apple according to Apple's policies. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and Apple's applicable purchase terms for in-app purchases, Apple's terms will control for payment processing, billing, cancellation, and refunds.
We may change, add, remove, limit, or update paid features, subscription benefits, coin usage, free quotas, or feature limits from time to time. Any current pricing and subscription details will be shown in the app or in App Store purchase sheets before purchase.
If you purchase a subscription, your access to subscription benefits continues for the paid period unless your subscription expires, is canceled, is refunded, or is otherwise limited under these Terms.
You agree not to use Recol to:
Upload, create, send, or share illegal, harmful, hateful, harassing, abusive, threatening, sexually exploitative, or non-consensual content
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
Violate privacy, publicity, intellectual property, or other rights
Harass, spam, exploit, or abuse other users
Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorization
Interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, or overload Recol or its systems
Use Recol for unlawful surveillance, stalking, or non-consensual sharing
Use AI features to generate or assist unlawful, harmful, or rights-violating content
Recol may provide tools to report users, report co-created Boxes, block users, remove friends, leave co-creation, or manage visibility settings.
We may review reports and take actions we consider appropriate, including limiting features, removing content, blocking interactions, terminating accounts, or preserving information where required for safety, legal, or security reasons.
Your use of Recol is also governed by our Privacy Policy: https://your-domain.com/recol/privacy. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information, including information related to photos, videos, text, friends, chat, purchases, notifications, AI features, App Tracking Transparency, and push notifications.
Recol may ask for permission to send push notifications, such as friend requests, co-creation invitations, chat messages, Box delivery reminders, sealed Box opening reminders, account notices, or service updates. You can disable notifications in your device settings.
If Recol uses tracking or advertising measurement that requires Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission, we will request your authorization through the iOS system prompt. You can allow or deny this permission, and you can change your choice in iOS Settings.
Recol may rely on third-party service providers for hosting, cloud storage, database services, media storage, analytics, crash reporting, app infrastructure, Apple In-App Purchase, Apple Push Notification service, and AI processing. These providers may process information only as needed to support Recol's functionality, security, and operations.
Recol, including the app design, logos, interface, software, features, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer Recol except as permitted by law.
We work to provide a reliable service, but Recol may be unavailable, delayed, interrupted, or changed due to maintenance, technical issues, third-party services, network failures, app updates, security concerns, or other reasons.
We do not guarantee that Recol will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times.
Recol is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that memories, media, messages, AI outputs, sealed Box reminders, or delivery experiences will always be available, accurate, complete, or preserved indefinitely.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recol and its owners, operators, affiliates, service providers, and team members will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of Recol.
You may stop using Recol at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure, harmed other users, or used Recol in a way that threatens safety, security, or service integrity.
Some sections of these Terms will continue to apply after termination, including sections related to User Content licenses, payments, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute-related provisions.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we may provide notice in the app or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of Recol after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
