Ingredients:
water
🥛 milk
4-5 black peppercorns
4-5 cloves
4-5 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
pinch of green fennel seeds
small piece cinnamon stick
🫚 1 tsp fresh ginger, peeled and roughly sliced
1 black tea bag
sugar/stevia, to taste
Directions:
Get a filled to the brim mug or two of water into a pot, depending on how many servings you intend to make.
Throw in peppercorns, fennel seeds, cloves, crushed cinnamon and cardamom, and ginger. Bring to a boil and then simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
Add in the black tea (either a teaspoon of looseleaf, or empty the tea packet in the pot if it's bagged). Simmer for 5 more minutes.
Add in milk - the boiling spices should leave a ring on the sides of the pot to use as a reference of how much to add to restore the water that's boiled out of there. Bring to a boil but carefully - it can run over.
Strain and serve with some sweetener.
This amount of spices has been tested and works fine for either 1 or 2 mugs of tea. Spices can be varied depending on preference.
