This policy explains what information the iOS app Recipe Keeper: AI Meal Ideas ("the app", "we") uses, where it goes and what stays on your device. It applies only to this app. The short answer: the app has no accounts, no advertising and no tracking.
No account, no personal profile
You do not create an account to use Recipe Keeper and we never ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number or contacts. Nothing in the app identifies you to us.
What is processed to make the features work
Some features send what you type or photograph to our backend so an AI model can answer. This data is used only to produce the answer and is not linked to you.
AI recipe generation: the ingredients and preferences you enter (for example "eggs, tomato, 15 minutes, vegetarian").
AI Chef chat: the messages you send in the Chat tab.
Ingredient scanner: the photo you take or pick from your library. The image is sent to our backend for analysis and is not stored by the app after the answer comes back.
Meal planner and grocery lists: the days, calories, diet, allergies, budget and recipes you choose.
Our backend runs on Supabase (operated by Supabase Inc.) using edge functions that forward the request to a hosted large-language-model provider (currently Google Gemini through an AI gateway). Those providers process the content to generate the response under their own terms; we do not send them any identifier about you. The app talks to the backend with a public, publishable key. It does not send your device identifier, advertising identifier, location or any account details.
What stays on your device
Saved recipes, favourites, chat history, meal plans, grocery lists, language, theme and the free-tier daily counters are stored only on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
Voice input
If you tap the microphone, Apple's on-device speech recognition converts your voice to text. We receive only the resulting text (as described above), never the audio.
Camera and photo library
Camera and photo access are requested only when you start a scan. The app does not read your photo library in the background and does not upload photos you did not choose.
Purchases
Recipe Keeper Pro is sold through Apple's in-app purchase system (StoreKit). Apple handles payment; we never see your card details, Apple ID or purchase history. The app checks with StoreKit whether a Pro subscription or the lifetime purchase is active and keeps a copy of that answer on the device. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel them in your Apple ID settings.
No advertising, no analytics, no tracking
Version 1.1.0 contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no crash reporting service. We do not track you across apps or websites and the app never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Children
The app is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your choices
Do not use a feature if you do not want its content sent to the backend; browsing recipes and managing lists work without sending anything.
Revoke camera, photo or microphone access in iOS Settings at any time.
Delete the app to remove all locally stored data.
Because we hold no account or identifier for you, there is no server-side profile to export or delete; content sent for AI processing is not retained in a form linked to you.

We will update this page and the effective date when the app's data practices change.
