Summer is part of a series reflecting monthly field work myself and others at the University at Buffalo conducted to collect data from a lake in western New York.

In this painting, we are lowering two instruments into the lake to collect information at each depth, such as temperature and water samples.

My field work, and the University at Buffalo, are on the lands of the Seneca Nation, a member of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.
