It is my honor to announce I seek re-election to the Great Neck Board of Education, for a fourth term.💙🧡💙 🧡

💙Most broadly, I seek continuity and stability on the Board, including as immediate past president, and second longest-serving trustee. BH I continue to serve with passion and dedication, including on the District Safety Committee. 

🧡My proven record includes: serving as board president during key inflection points including: October 7; the process to appoint a  new board member; the death of a superintendent; the hallmark selections of signature Administrative hires;  the COVID-19 pandemic; and the turnaround to increase the budget pass rate after the Annual Election date was changed in 2021. 

💙 I am an outspoken advocate of local control by boards of education. This is an essential governance standard for our residents, as well as our employees, and our students and families. I have worked by achieving consensus, with my colleagues and Administration on this issue in order to retain local control here in Great Neck, and by extension, elsewhere.

🧡Particularly, prior to these, and ever since, I have supported the board and the administration with fidelity. I was first elected to the board after well over  a decade of leadership on parent committees, including the United Parent Teacher Council, Shared Decision Making Committees, and several other community organizations. 

💙Historically, and as a point of pride,  I was elected overwhelmingly in mandates in 2017, then re-elected in 2020, and 2023,  as the first, and only, American-born, Farsi-speaking, traditional Jew elected to the board of education in the Great Neck Public Schools’  history. 

🧡I am certain our community’s acculturative journeys are tethered to Great Neck and our schools, in a positive way, for Great Neck’s future: We have much in common. 

💙My children graduated our outstanding public schools. My family are longterm residents of Great Neck.  I continue to serve. Fundamentally, I believe in the transformational power of educators and education for all. The Great Neck Public Schools are a jewel 💎🔸🔹🔹🔸in our community crown👑.
