Check out the most up to date information on our playground renovation project!
Our beloved playground has brought joy, adventure, and memories to countless children over the years—but like all well-loved spaces, it’s beginning to show its age. To keep it safe, welcoming, and exciting for future generations, it’s time for a thoughtful refresh.
A key part of this renovation will be improving accessibility. We want every member of our community—regardless of age, ability, or mobility—to be able to enjoy this space. By adding inclusive features and designing with accessibility in mind, we can ensure the playground truly serves everyone.
Updating the playground now means creating a space where families can gather, children can explore, and our entire community can thrive together for years to come.
We’re excited to share that we’ve officially begun working with Play by Design - the same team who helped bring our original playground to life years ago, though they operated under a different name at the time. Just as before, this project will be a true community build.
We will be holding our Design Day in early January (official date coming soon), where community members will help shape the look, feel, and features of the new playground. Then, we’re planning a community build in mid to late August, where volunteers will come together to bring the design to life, just like during the original build.
From the design process and fundraising efforts all the way to hands-on construction, the future of this playground will be shaped entirely by the people who use it. Volunteers will again play a major role in bringing the playground to life, making it a space created by the community and for the community.
Because the park receives no tax-based funding, we rely fully on local support to make projects like this possible. To turn this vision into reality, we need strong involvement from residents, families, and businesses.
Stay connected! Sign up for our email list to hear about upcoming volunteer opportunities and fundraisers. Together, we can build a playground that truly reflects the spirit of Reamstown.
To make this project successful, we need community members to join our committee. Anyone who wants to help is welcome. We need support in many areas, from fundraising and event planning to coordinating volunteers and managing build-week logistics. If you’d like to get involved, please email reamstownpark@gmail.com—we would love to have you on the team.
