Setting up the mic and it doesn't hear or recognise the microphone array. Can't use Cortana or Google speech (ok google on chrome). When looking at the settings and increasing microphone boost etc, it doesn't hear any sound. When setting up mic windows says it can't hear anything.

I uninstalled the audio devices from the device manager, rebooted, and in the sound settings, recording tab, you can see that the microphone is picking up the sound. But once I install the Realtek drivers, through the Intel Drivers and Support app, the microphones don't pick anything up. Without the realtek drivers, Google speech recognition works, but once the realtek drivers go on, it doesn't. Cortana doesn't work at all under any circumstance.

Curious about the reason? The ALSA drivers don't support microphones for my soundcard (Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 VX). Also, It does not handle audio output quite well. I have issues. Also, I'd really like some software like the windows-only "Realtek Audio Manager" that does effects to the audio such as echoes and so on.

I searched the forum and read different topics regarding asio and realtek, but I'm 99% convinced it's windows 11. I've watched every YouTube video possible on how to delete/disable the the Realtek audio driver. While it can be deleted, it's only temporary. The second you restart or shut down the computer, the Realtek driver comes back. This wouldn't be an issue if it didn't freeze cakewalk and other vst's(ezdrummer) and I have to re start the computer constantly. Asio is the most steady driver, and I try to use that most often, especially if I'm using ezd in standalone mode. The most frustrating thing is, I can go on my old laptop with windows 10 and don't have any issues with the audio drivers. I contacted hp technical support and that was like talking to a brick wall. I guess I'm curious if anyone else had these issues with windows 11. The biggest thing for me is having the lowest latency possible. I run my roland drums into my laptop for ezdrummer, so I need the lowest latency possible, which is by using the asio driver.

Disabling it will temporarily use the high definition codec, but as soon as i turn the computer off or restart, it reverts back to realtek. I could go in and disable it everytime, but that would be super annoying. I should have the option of the Realtek driver or HD driver, but I don't and that is my issue. Also, wasapi exclusive will give me about 5ms latency at best at that's with alot of static. 10ms is the lowest I can get with wasapi with no interference.

So is there another way to regain this functionality? Is there something like what's suggested in this other question?Unmute audio input (microphone) in OSX programaticallyBasically some command to unmute the direct monitoring of the Line In audio input on Windows, or maybe an app that controls the drivers?Realtek audio console doesn't provide this option :(

I just had the same problem, but it's not because of the driver. The culprit is the new realtek audio control which has removed the lever for audio monitoring level. You have to use an old version of realtek control panel to make it work. For example try downloading audio drivers for this motherboard it and look for the file RAVCpl64.exe under the Vista64 folder.

Hello. I normally run Linux on my Framework (Arch), and I have no issues. However, due to an online exam and lockdown browser (college student), I need to use windows. I was able to install it a few weeks ago on a 250GB expansion card using Rufus and Windows-to-go, and after installing the driver bundle, everything works except sound.

@nrp Sadly no change. I uninstalled the Realtek driver beforehand, to give it a good shot, but the behavior is still the same as with the beta bundle (after reinstalling Realtek). The speaker and mic show up, but the speaker is non-functional, and the microphone is completely dead.

Hi, I downloaded the latest Beta drivers for Windows 11 from Framework site. Using an unzip program extract the individual drivers. Install the realtek audio driver and restart machine. I tried various other things but then uninstalled the realtek driver and the sound returned.

I recently had decided to update to the next compatible AMD software ( Adrenaline Version 20.5.1 ). Shortly after this, I realized my audio had gone out. After some investigating, I realized both my headset, microphone, and speakers were all disconnected, as well as my Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio) driver. I tried updating it, no use. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Realtek High Definition Audio, no use. I took suggestions and disabled some things that could have interfered, still nothing. This has happened before in the past, which made me have to system restore back to when the previous version of AMD Software was installed, then everything was fine. Is this simply just the AMD software causing problems with my audio, or is there just something I haven't thought of? Thank you!

When windows do a major update usually it updates your entire set of drivers along with it. Usually, 50% of their driver's catalog are faulty drivers.

So my advice would be to download the latest updates of the Intel graphics driver, AMD graphics driver, and Realtek driver, after that unplug from the internet and then uninstall those drivers ticking the delete option in uninstalling dialogue from the device manager. After that install the drivers Realtek first then Intel then AMD, that should fix you.

As for your second requirement, this is an audio driver-specific feature that apparently is removed from the driver that got updated from the Microsoft catalog. So all you can do is to cross your fingers and hope it wasn't deprecated and removed from the driver you are about to install.

Finally as a hint, with laptops with dual GPUs such as yours usually HDMI sound outputs through the Intel Display Audio driver as usually Intel's GPU is set to GPU 0 (Primary GPU), any other setup just means you have a conflict. And also be hinted that Intel Display Audio should not be visible in sound and video and game controller not unless the cable is connected to a compatible device, if unplugged the device disables and hides.

Dear All,

I just updated Windows 11 Pro on my ASUS Vivobook Pro to the latest updadte and found that the speaker stop working, no sound coming out, just a very short period then stop no sound. But when I tested the microphone on Audio Setting, it work normally and the speaker also produce sound from my microphone. Only Test Speaker does not work, so can not hear anything from other members on the meeting.

Temporary Solution:

I downgraded Realtek High Definition Audio driver from the latest version, from version 6.0.9357.1 (24/05/2022) to 6.0.9231.1 (31/08/2021) and the speaker produce the sound again.

I am not sure it is the new latest Zoom update that needs to be patched or my ASUS Vivobook Pro that needs to be patched. Zoom Technical Team please help to investigate this issue so we can use the latest audio driver from Realtek. Thanks and hope this helps.

If your mic isn't working in Windows 10, it could be due to faulty hardware, missing device drivers, audio input being muted, and more. Some fixes for when your microphone isn't working in Windows 10 include running the Windows 10 troubleshooter, checking your mic's mute button, checking Device Manager to make sure your PC can detect your mic, disabling other Bluetooth devices, and more. ff782bc1db
