☆ Diana was born into quite a normal (as far as she knew) middle class family. She had a mother and a father who loved her very much. She was a friendly and curious child, always asking strangers questions and giving them compliments. Her parents raised her to always be herself and to never stop asking questions, but also with a healthy amount of caution. After all, they didn’t want their daughter to get in any danger.
For the first 5 years of her life, her world consisted solely of her parents and occasional babysitters who would watch her when her parents were both working or when they went out for date nights. However, at the age of 5 she went to school and was, for the first time, associating more frequently with children her own age. Initially her intense curiosity and her often strange questions put off the other children. She wasn’t made fun of so much as she was just avoided. But that quickly changed due to her kind nature and her intelligence leading to her avoiding the awkward questions until she got to know someone better and knew they wouldn’t mind.
She was never the type of person to have a lot of friends in elementary school but she always had a good amount. The transition to high school was a difficult one as none of her friends ended up going to the same one. However, she quickly made new friends with the nerdier crowd and enjoyed it. By the time she was 16, she had loads of friends and due to the unique nature of her school, her and her friends were the popular crowd. She passed her driver’s test with flying colors on the first try and her parents bought her a car in celebration. It was a used car, but she loved it anyway.
Everything was great in her life. But that was when things changed. She was driving home from school one day when a car hit hers. She hadn’t been doing anything wrong, the car had come out of nowhere. Eventually police and paramedics got to the scene and brought her to the hospital. The doctors worked quickly to save her but there was, in the end, nothing they could do. At least, as far as they knew. Her parents were called and were given a chance to say goodbye to their daughter.
And then….something happened. Diana changed. She no longer looked the same as the way she looked when she had gone into the hospital. She opened her new eyes to see her parents. Her father looked shocked while her mother smiled. She explained to Diana and her father what had happened. There were traits that ran through her mother’s family. They tended to skip a generation, usually. These traits included the ability to regenerate (up to a point. There’s a limit to the regenerations but Diana’s mother was unsure of the number of regenerations that was the limit as her mother had never reached it) as well as other powers which Diana discovered later.
Her parents managed to sneak her out of the hospital with help from a friend of her mother’s who knew about the family’s abilities. She was withdrawn from school, to her sadness and moved to a different school. After a while, though, she was allowed to see her old friends with her parents as chaperones. Some of her friends freaked out and were made to sign non-disclosure agreements. But others were alright with it.
Diana made new friends in her new school as well and slowly all of her friends found out about her abilities which included: telekinesis, flying, telepathy, and the ability to make plants grow. She graduated from high school at the top of her class and got into a good college where she studies communications with a minor in English Literature.
She’s made some new friends at college, all of whom now know about her abilities. Her life is pretty good at the moment. Hopefully, it will stay that way.
