☆ Alanna has always been a special one. Since a young age, she’s been smart, eager, and determined to always do her best. Born to Amaira and John Masterson, she was absolutely doted on by both her parents.
Alanna had had crushes on girls ever since she could remember, but didn’t come out to her parents until she was 16. Her mother took it well, but her father didn’t. He was homophobic, to tell you the truth. Because of this and other tensions in the relationship, Amaira filed for divorce. John tried to get custody of Alanna, but was luckily unsuccessful.
Amaira and Alanna left to live with Amaira’s sister and her husband, and Alanna was then surrounded by love. She decided then, at the age of 17, to change her name legally to her mother’s last name. Always a creative soul, Alanna went through life painting, drawing, writing, filming, taking pictures. Anything creative, she loved. Amaira supported her daughter in all her endeavors.
Alanna was at first undecided in college, a lover of far too many subjects to choose just one. Eventually, she majored in art history with minors in English and Psychology. Upon graduating, she got a job as an art therapist, working to improve the lives of children and adults through art.
But her own creativity suffered due to how busy her job was. And so, she quit. Undecided yet again, she worked odd jobs to keep the money coming in. However, creativity was always her priority. Amaira supported her daughter, and before she knew it Alanna had a rather successful Instagram account where she’d share her creative projects. At the age of 23, Alanna published her first book, a collection of poems with accompanying drawings. Her book sold very well, even ending up on the New York Times bestseller list.
Happy to be successful with her creative pursuits, Alanna moved out of her family’s home and moved to a small apartment nearby. Though she and her mother and that side of the family are still close. As for her father, she hasn’t heard from him in years. And she prefers it that way.
Alanna overall is pretty happy. She is continuing to write and draw, working on a graphic novel at the moment.
