The Realme X50 pro has a fascinating camera setup. It has a total of 6 cameras; four on the rear end while two on the front cameras. The rear cameras consist of:
The primary sensor of 64 MP with an aperture of f/1.8
The ultra-wide camera of 8 MP with an aperture of f/2.3
The telephoto camera of 12 MP (f/2.5)
The Black and white camera of 2 MP for better performance by adding more contrast to the snaps. Realme calls the last camera as a Portrait camera as it gives a sharper and an old-styled image.
A rear flash is available, while the front camera has the screen flash. The screen flashes are of 1000 nits within the OLED screen.
Overall the color output of the Realme X50 Pro has improved a lot compared to older smartphone cameras. This time Realme has improved on the over-saturation look of the images making the images look much more natural. The saturation is noticeably high for some scenarios. The areas with some foliage in the picture have shown a smudge on the image. In some parts of the image, a few pixels have been combined, making the image look less sharp and detailed.
The Realme X50 Pro also offers 5X hybrid zoom and 20X digital zoom. The camera zoom work brilliantly although, there are few parts in the picture that are unclear. For a zoom camera, these snappers work impressively, but the edges and corners are a little blurred.
An exciting feature in the Realme X50 Pro is the AI filter. The AI filter corrects the image according to its software, making the images look sharper and vibrant. Some people may not like the filter effects as it works on the saturation levels, shadows, highlights, contrast, tone and may give an unnatural feel to the image.
NIGHT MODE
Clicking pictures from the Realme X50 Pro in low-light provides very disappointing results. Capturing pictures using the night mode for low-light pictures does serve the purpose of lighting the image slightly, but the clarity is not obtained. When the picture is clicked in the night mode, the camera can remove some of the excess noise from the image.
PRIMARY CAMERA
This 64 MP camera is no doubt, a swift and sharp camera. The pictures clicked using the primary camera are incredibly sharp and detailed. It is expected that the quality of the camera will be improved after a software update has been introduced. It is advised to use 16 MP as it has a similar output as the 64 MP camera setting. For a picture taken from a smartphone, the Primary camera quality is truly commendable.
ULTRA-WIDE CAMERA
The Ultra-wide camera in Realme X50 Pro is of 8 MP with an aperture of f/2.3. The camera covers a 120-degree angle to capture as much as possible. The pictures taken from the Ultra-wide camera have shown over-saturation. The highlights in the image are also enhanced. This enhances the shadows as well but makes the overall image look whitewashed. In some parts of the image, the clarity is lost due to mixed pixels. The overall look of the image is ruined due to these few regions looking smudged. All-in-all the Ultra-wide camera serves its purpose of covering more area but fails to maintain the clarity of the image.
TELEPHOTO
The telephoto camera installed in this smartphone is of 12 MP with f/2.5 aperture. The aperture is agreeably smaller than usually required. The only drawback of the Telephoto camera in the Realme X50 Pro is the lack of sharpness of the image. The 2X zoom, when used, fails to provide a clear photo. When zoomed in night mode, the image quality drops considerably.
FRONT CAMERA
The front cameras available in the Realme X50 Pro can capture decent pictures. There are two front cameras provided. Although neither of them provides autofocus. The primary front camera is 32 MP Sony IMX616 Quad-Bayer sensor with f/ lens. The other is an 8 MP camera behind the f/2.2 lens and can take 105-degree ultrawide selfies.
VIDEOGRAPHY
The video options on the camera are imposing. With an EIS stability function taking videos in the Realme X50 Pro is extremely easy. The EIS can compensate for the moving of the camera while walking, giving decent stability to the video being taken. Although obviously jogging or running movement cannot be compensated for by the EIS.
Overall the camera quality of Realme X50 Pro is excellent for a smartphone but can be improved upon. Mostly, the updates that are being done to the phone will rectify these few problems. If one is buying the phone according to the camera functions and quality, the cost of the Realme X50 Pro is not worth it. For a smartphone, the camera quality is understandable, and clicking photos and video tapping has been made very simple and efficient.
