Dear South Maple/K-3 Online Students and Families,

For the past nine years, South Maple students have been asked to raise money during March for the Readathon. This is our only fundraiser. It raises money for classroom items, field trips, and special school events. This year we are raising money for new playground equipment! Here are some of the possibilities:

This year’s Readathon starts Monday, February 28! The theme this year is Dig into Reading! Your class will be on one of the following teams of archeologists: Red, Yellow, Green, or Blue. Your team’s goal is read more minutes than any other team.

Here’s how the Readathon works:

  1. Set a goal for reading. How many minutes will you read during the month of March?

  2. Read and record the minutes you read each day. At the end of the week, have a parent fill out the weekly log/Google form.

  3. Find family and friends to sponsor you. They can give you a set amount or an amount for each minute you read.

The Readathon will end on Friday, March 18. Prizes will be passed out to winners after spring break. Click here for more information about prizes.

We hope to see everyone participating. Please watch the informational video. If you have any questions, please contact your teacher or SME’s PTO at southmapleelementarypto@gmail.com.
