Reaction to a moving object

"Reaction RMO Pro"

This app allows you to determine the user's ability to react to a moving object.

One of the methods for monitoring the functional state of the human central nervous system is to determine the ratio of excitation and inhibition processes during the reaction to a moving object (RMO).

The human reaction to a moving object refers to the ability to determine the spatial and temporal parameters of the visual stimulus movement, and to quickly and accurately perform the necessary actions in response. To perform the test tasks, you need to click on the red circle when it matches the blue one.

The visual stimulus to which you need to respond moves at a constant speed (the first stage is one step per 0.003 s, the second stage is one step per 0.002 s). The speed was chosen experimentally, which can be considered "slow" (v=63 mm/s).

At each stage, the measurements are checked for normal distribution. The Shapiro-Wilk criterion was used to determine whether the law of normal distribution was followed, since this criterion allows for testing samples that are not very large (n<50). At the end of the stage, if the Shapiro-Wilk criterion is greater than the table value W>Wt (p=0.05) for the corresponding number of measurements (10, 20, 30), the program allows you to proceed to the next stage. At the second stage, in order to complicate the task, the speed of the visual stimulus was increased by 1.5 times. At the third stage, additional objects are added that move chaotically, change speed, color, and intensity of reflection. The main purpose of these objects is to create an additional load on the visual analyzer. The hypothesis is that only those individuals who have a more advanced mechanism for processing visual information are able to maintain attention and respond in a timely manner only to the necessary objects for the test task. After the test is completed, the program prompts you to enter information about the performer, after which you can move on to the next measurement.

When performing this test, you can choose one of three testing modes. Each test task consists of three stages. You can choose between 10 to 30 attempts per stage.

The demo mode 'Demo' allows for trial attempts.

The standard mode 'Main mode' offers a test task where the visual stimulus speed is low in the first stage, increases by 1.5 times in the second stage, and has added distracting visual stimuli in the third stage.

The 'Slow mode' offers a test task where the visual stimulus speed is low in all stages. The 'Fast mode' offers a test task where the visual stimulus speed is high in all stages.

The program provides the following information about the measurements:

percentage of reactions for the entire test ("Premature, %" - premature reactions, "Delayed, %" - reactions with a delay, "Accurate, %" - accurate reactions).

The researcher has the ability to view, edit (change information about the performer, delete a measurement) and send measurements to any location (save as a separate file in CSV, Excel, PDF, and other formats, e-mail, cloud storage).

It is also possible to see the test result in a graphical display, both for one performer and a group of athletes.

The resulting test time demonstrates a reaction to a moving object of the user. This app can be used by athletes and teachers of specialized educational institutions in their scientific research.

Also you can save a JSON backup of your measurements anywhere (Save backup), add measurements from another device (Add backup), replace already saved measurements with new ones (Replace backup), or delete all data (Delete all data).
