Hi, I am Kaushik. I am a physicist by training and an entrepreneur by inclination. I work at the interface of physics and engineering, to develop affordable healthcare solutions and point-of-care diagnostics. Presently, I am working as Translation Scientist with DIA in Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (Bengaluru, India). I have co-founded Iota Design & Innovations Lab Pvt. Ltd. - a company that designs, develops and commercialises healthcare products. I have a firm belief that technologies developed in academic labs should go beyond academic publications and/or vanity patents and must  reach to the society for the collective good.

My research interests are optical micro-spectroscopy, interferometry, optical manipulation, low-light imaging and 3D-printing (FDM and SLS) (mostly bio-materials). I have earned my Ph.D. in interferometric observation of laser plasma-induced shockwaves, jointly from IIT Bombay (India) and Monash University (Australia). Apart from my research in Ph.D. I have successfully developed optical tweezers and all-optical micro-spectroscopic set-up for material characterisation to elemental level.

I had a short teaching stint at various universities in the departments of physics/applied physics where I have taught optics, electromagnetic theory and engineering mechanics.
