So recently I picked up the first 3 light novels, and I'm planning to get the entire series up to what's been translated so far. I felt that reading in sync with an audiobook would help me enjoy the books more.

When I started learning I set a goal to be able to read and understand a light novel called . As I am about N5/N4 level there's still way to go before I could, but I was wondering if someone can assess and tell me it's level, kanji, vocabulary and grammar wise. I'm aware that this novel probably has a lot of uncommon words but that's okay. It will be tough at the beginning.

Even if these evidences are coming straight from the light novel, it is still my very own experience with a tinge of bias, and the english translation was from a long time ago. If you have the willingness to waste your time reading this edgy piece of work by Gen Urobuchi, then try to read Fate/Zero for yourselves.

This is the light novel "Four Destinies" which details the SSS's stories preceding the beginning of Zero. As this mainly deals with their backstories there are some spoilers for stuff revealed in the games so I would recommened at least finishing Zero first.

I love Re: Zero seasons 1 and 2 to death!! It is in my top 5 anime and i now wanna return back to this masterpiece of a series and read ahead of the anime, from what i know the light novel in English has already covered all of arc 5 by now but iv'e heard that they changed some stuff in there and i don't know if the changes are that drastic, am i missing out on a lot if i choose light novel over web novel? I just want to know which one i'm better off reading, thanks!

For starters I am an anime only for Fate zero. A friend of mine told me that Gilgamesh was surprisingly chill in the Fate zero light novel for the most part but the anime adaptation of Fate zero made him more arrogant to make him fit better with his Fate stay night counterpart.

I watched second season of anime 2 days ago, and I don't know if I can wait for anime to adapt whole story. I started reading web novel from ~68 chapter of arc 4 but now I saw that in my country light novel is on volume 21, will be on 22 by the end of this year. Given that Light Novel is more polished version I really struggle to choose. For me it would be little easier and I would enjoy it more in my native language probably since now I have to check 2-3 words every page of WN. I don't really know how these WN and LN works, I know that LN is based on WN but to what extent? Are there major changes in story? I do like to read in depth character development.

where does the Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho anime leave at the light novel i finished the anime and now i'm interested at the novel? and if anyone has read the novel did the anime do a good job or should i read from the first volume? is there any official translations or groupes translating the novel? and to what volume did the novel reach? and thanks in advance for anyone who answered or helped

So I watched the first season of Re:Zero back when it aired, and I decided to get back into it by reading the light novels. I started over by reading the first three, and they have completely disillusioned me on the series.

-I have looked for a free website to read the unofficially translated Re Zero light novels, but the only reliable one I could find was for Arcs 4 and onward (Translation Chicken). Does anyone know of such a website with Arcs 2 and 3? Thanks in advance!

tl;dr: I'm afraid that the second season of Re:Zero won't live up to the hype of the first season and that I'll get spoiled for major plot points later down the line by other people. My question is: which do you think has the better quality so far, the anime or the light novel?

A few months ago i Started Reading the re:zero light novels and today i was scrolling Amazon when the question hit My mind: there are 22 light novels, chapter 1-2-3-4 manga,5 extra (or 4,can't Remembe well) and there should be the collab with mushuko tensei too. So,does anyone have a full guide on how to read all of them? On another reddit post i found that the extras can be read anytime since they are characters backstories, the manga are manga and they are linked with the anime and the light novels are the main story, but what about the mushuko tensei collab? Is there a physical version somewhere? And Is there any other book im missing?

From what I know, the animated medium of both these are so faithful to the source material (not to mention the beautiful animation, especially Kara no Kyoukai.),that I get the impression reading the original light novels may not offer much, especially if you're not big into pure/light novels to begin with.

I've asked this on discord but I'll ask here too! I've been reading up to arc 6 now, i really love this story. i was wondering where would u guys place a story like re:zero with other books you've read..whats a comparable novel that u enjoy more or less? no right or wrong, just want ur opinion, and recommendations of course! I've read Shinsekai Yori its another sci-fi fantasy piece, it was really good, but i don't think it was as layered as re:zero was, which is something i really like.

I happened to meet up with a professional Japanese->English translator three months ago. I asked him how he practices reading, and he introduced me to the method of listening to audio books whilst simultaneously following the text of the light novel. That is to say, to use the light novel as subtitles to the audio book. I can't overstate how much this helped. It does a few things:

In summary: get a Kindle Oasis, load it up with the JMdict dictionary, register it with an Amazon JP account, buy a Mushoku Tensei light novel and its accompanying audio book. Now play the audio book via your phone, and read along with the audio. If you budget 10 hours a week, you can clear a light novel each week.

I'm new on light novels and I want to start on re Zero, but upon researching I found that s2 ends on chapter 16. So I tried on witch cult translations(heard it's great) but there's multiple arcs. Can I know which arc does it end?

How major are the differences between the web novel and light novel? I read the WN arc 5 completely and then I went to check out a few things about it on the wiki. But there I read about one of the districts being flooded in a loop and that Priestella was used to drown Typhon. Are these just things I missed in the WN or are they LN only? Any other changes besides these ones?

Basically, should I watch the anime or read the light novel? I'd usually jump straight into the anime if the source material isn't a VN (manga isn't really my thing) but I'm willing to read the light novel if it provides an even slightly better experience.

I know that there have been ton of question about this, but as Zero no Tsukaima was my 1st or 2nd anime and I really liked it, I am kind of disappointed with the end of the anime. I don't mean anything bad about it and I might even be wrong as well since I watched it few years ago, but I want to know if the light novel has different ending than anime. Also it would be very helpful if you could provide some free website where I can read LN, as well as the order of LNs. Thanks in advance.

This is a question for the people that have read all or most of the content available for each of these series. Which among these do you personally think is the best? How would you rank them? Additionally, if there are other isekai light novels that you think are as good as these three or better, what are they?

I've been reading The Re:ZERO Light Novels and i'm almost done with arc 4, my question is should I switch to the web novel at the end of the arc (volume 15) or should I switch to the web novel after the latest translated light novel (volume 16)?

I'm not the biggest fan of the Re: Zero anime but I really love light novels, especially the Monogatari series. I was wondering if the light novels elaborate a bit more on whats going on in the series; make some actions of some characters more understandable? I would really like to see why people love the series so much and hope that the light novels might be able to provide that.

Alright so I'm a huge fan of re:zero since the anime aired in 2016, it's personally my favorite anime and of course I'm just as excited as everyone else with this new season. The latest episode (season 2 episode 23) was straight up heat. I love how well the animation and soundtracks fit the overall feel of the episode. Anyways what I'd like to do is read Arc 5 and probably Arc 6 after the season 2 is done airing, and I was curious as to how long it takes to read Arc 5 (Web novel on witch cult). If anyone has a rough estimate on how long it took them that'd be great!

Can someone recommend some good light novels that are similar to re zero in the aspect that the main character goes through psychological torture and suffering like subaru does and that has a male protagonist.

Is there an English release of the Fate/zero light novels? I have only been able to find the manga which I'm not interested in. F/z is one of my favorite series and I really wanna check out the source material, it really sucks there doesn't seem to be an English release, similarly with the f/sn visual novel. why do English licensers do the fate series fans so dirty when it's such a huge series...

Ive been trying to learn more japanese and I figured a good way would be to read the Re: Zero light novels since I already have an idea of what's happening (Thanks Chicken-sama!) and I've already finished all the manga in japanese. Does anyone know if the light novels are written with gana? When I bought the manga the first arc and third arc all had gana over the kanji making it much easier to read while the 2nd arc did not. (Different publishers) Does anyone here know if the light novels have gana like this? 006ab0faaa
