Artist Bio
Ashley Kim (she/her/hers) is a Korean-American writer located in California. She is a student at the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in Cognitive Science and minoring in Asian American Studies. Her poetry and short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in Hyphen Magazine, Autofocus, The Mandarin, Westwind Literary Magazine, and Short Vine Journal, among others. Soli deo gloria!
How Does Your Identity Affect Your Work?
My Korean-American heritage is an integral part of my identity, and I am thankful to have the privilege to explore it through my poetry and short stories. I enjoy writing about the nuances of Asian-American identity, focusing on themes like nostalgia, family, and loss.
