Artist Bio

Arvind Sivarajah (he/him/his) is about to complete a masters in Physics and Philosophy student at King's College London. Arvind really likes singing and playing the piano but occasionally finds himself writing rap lyrics after reading too many frustrating news articles covering social injustices. Arvind sees music as an essential platform to convey ideas and philosophies, especially in this current time, where many of us have lost the attention span and patience to do so with just words.

How Does Your Identity Affect Your Work?

Growing up as a minority in Malaysia, with an Indian father and Chinese mother, my life has been rather blessed and peaceful. Despite that, I do feel that I have never felt a sense of home outside of the people who have shown me love. No matter where I am and who I am with, there is a lingering feeling like I don't truly belong. It is not easy to convey this emotion to another person but music allows me to express this "feeling of not belonging" in a way that feels like a controlled and composed shriek into the void.
