Ameena Fareeda (she/her/hers) is a freelance Illustrator and Designer based in Silver Spring MD. She graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2018 with a BFA in Illustration. She is pasionate about creating work that explores her identity as an Asian- American and how pop culture influences her identity.

How Does Your Identity Affect Your Work?

I explore my identity as an Asian American through my work, more specifically how pop culture influences and molds my identity. Depicting shared experiences and interests through iconography and posters help shape my personal identity as an Asian. In light of the recent rise in hate crime towards Asians, it's important for me to define what uniquely represents me.
